15 YEARS - BUT I FINALLY FOUND THE WORST

Strengths: Quiet

Weaknesses: Where to start.. poorly manufactured, fraile parts, long cycles to get good results.

Summary: Just 1 year after purchase we had to call in for service. The Tech told us the problem was a manufacturer defect and not a normal wear and tear problem. However, labor was only covered for the 1st year and we had lapsed by a month - total labor $295.00. I have been a homeowner with as you can imagine many different brand appliances and the worst mistake I made was purchasing LG.. my husband's idea of converting all appliances to one brand (MEN!!! LOL). Both my big ticket items (Washer/Dishwasher) required service and/or repair within the year. Keeping my fingers crossed on my 2 large flat screens. You will get service - but you can't imagine the hoops you will jump to get someone to actually do what they say and by the time they actually provided the service - you've aged about 10 years. BUYER BEWARE - STAY AWAY FROM LG IF AT ALL POSSIBLE!

Bad dishwasher!

Strengths: Easy to read display. Very quiet.

Weaknesses: Cheap-made materials.

Summary: I purchased this dishwasher in May 2007 and after three months of use, it started to leak from the front door.

Having to deal with LG Customer Service for the warranty repairs was a nightmare. The dishawasher finally got repaired as of October 2, 07. Reason took so long is becasue LG sent damaged parts the first time. The second time, items were slighlty damaged too. The parts were: the door liner and gaskets.

The dishwasher does not leave the plates and else clean. Being an energy saver - uses about 7 gallons, this could be the problem. Also, you must use liquid versus powder detergent. Powder has a tendency to leave a whitish film on glassware.

DO NOT BUY

Strengths: Looks really nice, is quiet

Weaknesses: does not wash, bad racks, known defect

Summary: DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT! It is the worst dishwasher made by the worst company. Not only does it not wash the dishes well, the top rack breaks your glasses and the dishwasher has a known defect that the salesperson usually forgets to let you know. The material used in the door to isolate the noise actually glues with the cords inside the door and breaks them. The dishwasher has a LE error code that means your motor is broken. Mine happened only 5 months after buying it. I have read about people who even had it happened several times. I don't know how long it will take to get it fixed as many people had to wait weeks, if not months to get the parts to fix it (usually temporarily before it breaks again, once your warranty has expired and the cost is at your charge). LG has the worst customer service. The company knows about the problem when they have to tell the repair man what to do to fix it, but they won't admit to it to the consumer. They will let you know that it is an old model and the store where you bought it kept it in their storage room. They will agree to fix it, even though it is going to break again, but won't replace it.

The product is now discontinued, but some stores still sell it. SHAME ON THEM TOO!!!

LG Dishwasher LDS5811ST - Stanless inside and out

Strengths: This dishwasher has a very quite operation but you must operate it on a long cycle to get dishes completely clean.

Weaknesses: Parts are extremely cheap. I bought my dishwasher in April 2008 and have already had several broken wheels on the baskets. I have broken more dishes by the basket falling due to poorly designed parts

Summary: We purchase this dishwasher for approximately $650.00 and expected a high end appliance especially getting a stainless tub. To our surprise, this dishwasher has been alot of trouble. I use excessive amounts of liquid and the longest cycles to assure the dishes are clean. I have a small tray of broken parts from the racks that are not at all durable to everyday use. I would not recommend this dishwasher for anyone who has a family and needs to use this product daily.

Strengths: It is beautiful. Space efficient. and quiet. I can run it at night and sleep in teh next room and nt notice it is going.

Weaknesses: I would like a long handle on front versus a small grab handle.

Summary: Like I said It is really quite, and it cleans really well. My old dishwasher I had to rinse products off before washing them. This gets everything, and you dont see a lot of water spots

Lg Dishwasher

Strengths: strong

Weaknesses: none

Summary: This is the strongest dishwasher i have ever had, i also enjoy the functions with child lock to keep my little ones from touching, it automatically shuts off if the door is opened while running. Highly recommended.
