Strengths: *ability to fill a good size room
*excellent clarity
*perfect size
Weaknesses: *not a bass monster-excellent with a sub
Summary: I use these speakers as my front left and right in a 7.1 system that includes Aperion's new dual 10" sub. These speakers fit this role perfectly. They have the ability to produce good, full sound and fill all but the largest rooms. The double mid woofer design works excellently. It gives good division of sound, allowing all frequencies to be presented fully. It should be notes that these towers are not monster towers that can go without subs in the home theater setting. They are excellently sized towers, very unobtrusive-very good for meeting any WAF (woman acceptance factor). As I said, they should be used, and function very well, with a subwoofer. I cross them over at the standard THX value of 80 Hz and my system has excellent balance. Overall, they are excellent speakers that are ideally suited to be fronts in a home theater system with a sub.
