Strengths: nice picture when it worked
Weaknesses: high voltage section
Summary: After about 13 months of light to medium use, this tv started intermitantly arcing internally. Yesterday it quit at 18 months. Quality? The GE before it needed sound repair after 14 months.

Strengths: none that I can see
Weaknesses: everything. This TV is not worth your time and money
Summary: 2003-10-24 11:15:36 My first one stopped working after 2 weeks. although the warranty covers in home repair, I had trouble getting anyone to look at the TV. Of about a dozen service centers listed in my area, only one eventually agreed to come and pick it up. ALL the other service centers refused to service the item unless I brought it in, even though it is covered for in-home repair. I waited for parts for almost 2 months. Toshiba continually frustrated me with nonsense. They knew they couldnt get the replacements parts, but said I had to wait a while until they could do anything else - its corporate policy. After nearly 2 months of being without the TV, I finally was able to get a replacement for it at my local Best Buy. They had originally refused to allow me to exchange the item in this manner. Now, 3 months after the purchase, I am finally able to watch my TV, but the second TV has problems, also. Several times a night, the TV screen will suddenly go dark for a few seconds and then return to normal. I don't think this TV will last even a year and when it goes, even though it is covered by warranty, I will take it out to my driveway and smash it rather than deal with the inept warranty and customer service department run by Toshiba. Considering the phone calls and emails and my time, this TV, originally costing about $250, cost me well over $500. NOT a very good deal.
