Summary: This is a great laptop if you get it on sale. I believe this model is only offered by Office Depot. Its "sister model," the dv210us, is different only in that it has LightScribe (this model doesn't) and b/g Wi-Fi (this model has draft-n internal Wi-Fi). The size / weight, combined with its reasonable price, was a deal breaker for me. I wanted a big hard drive for storing multimedia and a core2duo processor -- it is fast. The X3100 GMA is supposed to be horrid for gamers, but for me it's just fine (I'm not a gamer). The weaknesses I listed are not--for the average user--major issues. The battery, I should note, is not terrible; it's just not outstanding. Consider the 12 cell if you travel a lot. The laptop does not get overly hot although the left palm rest gets warm because the hard drive is housed below it. My biggest pet peeve is the finger-print case -- although it does seem durable. I am constantly wiping it with the included dust cloth. This computer runs Vista incredibly well. It's also aesthetically pleasing. HP calls it an entertainment laptop, and with the included remote, media buttons, and sharp display, it definitely is just that. Of course, it's also good for completing work related tasks...
