Summary: If you have purchased the BR1500 or BX1500 I recommend adding the BR24BP battery pack.

When the electric goes out my APC BR1500 and BR24BP battery pack keep things running for a very long time, in most cases it keeps everything running until the electric comes back on.

It is amazing how long the battery power lasts, the APC BR1500 and BR24BP battery pack make a great combination.

APC BR1500 Back-UPS 1500VA for Home/Office Computers

Strengths: Attractive looking for a battery back-up, fits nice on the top of the desk. software is easy to use, it directly connects to your computer for accurate up-to-date info. quiet, recharges fast

Weaknesses: HEAVY, but what can you expect! Runtime was supposed to be around 110 minutes. Lasted about 48 with computer & monitor only

Summary: What can you really write about a battery back-up? It looks good, in a lot of cases it is a necessity not a luxury as surge protectors are really not any help. this will give you some life after death and I really need it most because I live in Florida and basically live on my computer. Every time the slightest bit of rain there is a brown out and I was tired of flashing and destruction of my components. I actually think this is a top notch piece but as this is my first and only I have ever owned it is hard for me to compare. all I can say is do not spend more than 4125 for it soup to nuts!

Fantastic UPS value

Strengths: Long battery life

Weaknesses: Expensive

Summary: I really like this UPS unit, I have owned several, all APC and they have all been very reliable. This is the best unit that APC makes. I live in Florida and these units have saved me many times over the years, between all the blackouts and brownouts in my area, I have never had a computer problem. Buy this unit, you will not be sorry !!

APC Back-UPS RS 1500VA Battery Pack

Strengths: Works well with my set-up

Weaknesses: none

Summary: The outages often occur where I live. I got my Dell dual core PC with two hard drives, sound card, ATI graphics card, cable modem, speakers and 24" monitor. It has shut down my PC in a timely manner. I recommend this unit to anyone who has a high end PC.

long hours of battery

Strengths: long hours of battery

Weaknesses: it is really heavy

Summary: I bought APC back-ups RS 1500 and its battery pack (APC BACK-UPS RS-XS 1500VA 24V BATTERY PACK) for a week now. It is pretty easy to install. After I charge them for 24 hours, I tried to use my computer without the ac coming into APC, my computer was working fine. I am pretty happy about it. This will solve my problem when there is electricity outage, which happened a few times in a year in my area. Now, I know my computer and my hard disks will be safe.
