Strengths: Adjustable floating head, high speed shaver, pop-up trimmer, charge indicator, worldwide compatibility. No hassle of changing blades!
Weaknesses: None whatsoever.
Summary: 2004-10-10 13:30:39 This is the best electric shaver in the world PERIOD. I have used several electric and non shavers - Mach series razors from Gillete (all of them), Schick, Panasonic 8017 and so on and so forth. This one beats them all. The adjustable shaving head is great for shaving the neck area which had always been an issue for me with the fixed angle razors. It is probably impossible to get a closer shave with anything else.

Strengths: Closeness, sensitive, wet and dry shaving.
Weaknesses: the battery can't be replaced, it will eventually die.
Summary: This is the best electric shaver I ever used. The shaving is so close, just like a razor. Once I started to use this one, never go back to Mach-3 or any other razors. Why risk the cutting mess? This one works in shower, with soap foam, shaving gel, etc. And it's so easy to clean, just rinse it off. So far I am very satisfied. A great product made in Japan. No more irritated skin from shavor.

Strengths: incredibly close shave
Weaknesses: hard to get the longer hairs on the neck
Summary: I had a Norelco rotary shaver prior to buying the Panasonic. I was thinking about going back to a straight razor since I did not feel that the shave was very close, and I always had a five o'clock shadow. However, this foil razor gives an unbelievably close shave, very much like a straight razor. Its truly like night and day! The razor is easy to clean. its only weakness is trying to shave longer hairs that may have been missed in a previous shave, but that is a known drawback for foil shavers. Otherwise, I highly recommend this product. I am completely satisfied.

Strengths: Good Shave, Easy to use
Weaknesses: Batteries die, this has been a problem with previous Panasonics, and still they have not solved it! When sent for service, under warranty, the estimate was more than the cost of new razor.
Summary: I enjoyed the razor, and love to shave in the shower, but the cost of such a fine instrument implies durability and longevity. The latter is sadly lacking on this brand. The warranty is now being debated. I certainly will not pay $109 to repair a razor which is still under warranty! Shame on you Panasonic.

Summary: I have been using Brawn shaver for more than 10 years and I changed to Panasonic at this time. It was a good choice.

Strengths: Cuts close, catches irregular hairs, powerful.
Weaknesses: Charging base takes up counter space.
Summary: I've been using a Norellco with three wheels for the last 12-15 years and it finally went south. I read the reviews on this shaver and was able to pick one up on ebay for $86. I'm glad I got this one for one very simple reason; it works like it's suppose to.

Strengths: close shave, wet/dry shave, smooth shaver, ability to clean with water
Weaknesses: messy when cleaning - sprays water everywhere
Summary: The ability to wet shave especially in the shower is very nice. Also, the ability to run soap through it to clean it is nice. Charges quickly and seems to be a top notch shaver.

Strengths: Best close shave I've had ever.
Weaknesses: Have not discovered any yet.
Summary: I have used a three blade straight shaver for some years, always upgrading them as new products came to market. I had used my Norelco shaver for emergencies. I disliked it because it required "scrubbing" my face to remove my beard, and then it left my face sore and irritated.
The Panasonic ES9082 Pro Curve Pivot is the greatest thing in shaving to come along for me ever. Wet or dry I get remarkably close shaves. I love the wet shave which leaves my face free from any irritation. Frankly, Panasonic will have to go a long way to improve this product.

Strengths: A great wet/dry shaver! ES8092NC provides a comfortable and acceptable shave. Compact induction charger stand and it recharges quickly. Easy to clean up with turbo mode. Fast and relatively quiet.
Weaknesses: Relatively expensive. Cannot plug into the wall outlet and shave when battery runs out. Does not provide a close shave like a razor. Dry shaving does not work as great as wet shaving. Poor trimmer.
Summary: 2005-04-05 15:38:02 The Panasonic ES8092NC is certainly among the top electric shavers I have ever tried. It gives a much closer shave and has wet/dry capability. No more razor bumps, and much less irritation (although not as good as the Braun 8595 I use).
Although this shaver is not a self-cleaning one, like some of the Braun models, the cleaning part is actually quite easy. Just put a drop of liquid soap on the screens and set the razor into turbo cleaning mode, all the crud will be rinsed out in seconds. On the other hand, the shaver does need a through cleaning from time to time to keep bacteria from growing inside the shaver block.
This shaver is well made, and appears like a high quality product. It is also very quiet and vibration free. Using shaving foam, as recommended by the user manual recommends, this shaver gives a very close shave and no razor burn. On the other hand, this razor still has lot to be desired for dry shaving-- it can eat up some skin if not properly operated because of the thin foil (which gives a really close shave). This shaver may not be able to get all hairs, especially those hard to reach spots, and it may leave razor bumps when not carefully used.
The shaver uses NiMh batteries, which has little memory affect. However, the battery life per charge is not as long as some other electric shaver. The battery indicator shows how much charge is left and this can help to avoid overcharging.
This shaver has a built in trimmer that is pretty handy to shape the sides and it works great. However, location of the trimmer is far less than desirable, and it is easily activated accidentally during shaving. Do not be surprised if you find yourself with an exposed running trimmer several times during each shave. You may choose to hold the razor at the base, but this is uncomfortable and difficult to control the shaver movement.
One final comment. This is a linear shaver, so it is highly directional and you need to hold it at a certain angle to shave. To get a good shave, you cannot move it in circles across the skin as you would a rotary, rather you must move it in straight lines (up/down, right/left).
The bottom line is that this is a great shaver and gets the job done quite well for me. It is certainly a great choice if you are looking for a linear shaver.

Strengths: Close shave, use it both wet and dry, easy to maintain and clean
Weaknesses: Cost of the head and interior razor replacements, difficulty of shaving neck area.
Summary: I have been shaving with the Panasonic Prove Curve shaver for just over two weeks now. I have used it daily without shaving lather while showering. Previously, I used the Norelco 6885XL electric razor. I find that that the Panasonic performs much better than the Norelco: the shave is closer and I am not having to shave a second time at the end of the day. The shaving process is not much quicker than the Norelco however. I still have to spend extra time shaving my neck. I have very sensitive skin. However, I have found that the Panasonic has not caused any problems with redness or irritation. I would recommend the product highly.

Strengths: shaves very close. cleans super quick.
Weaknesses: it is not a razor blade. but it is darn close.
Summary: let me preface this by saying that this is for the novice electric razor user. i had never owned one before for all of the typical reasons:
-used a friends for a couple of tries and shredded my face
-i have always shaved in the shower
-blades are cheap and shave the closest.
i have no excuses now. enter the wet shaver and more specifically the Panasonic ES8092
quite obviously it can be used in the shower.
it is not too loud.
the clean up of the razor is simply to easy.
it can not be overcharged and it has a vertical percentage display of remaining charge.
AND it shaves very close. from the get go it delivered a great shave for my face, but i have a sensitive neck and i went over my neck too much hoping for the prefect shave the first time out and i got burnt. invest in a soothing aftershave.
you must go into converting from a razor blade to an electric razor with the knowledge that it will take your skin a while to get used to the new direction of the blades cutting your whiskers.
i am almost two weeks into using the shaver and i feel like i am just getting over the hurdle. funny enough i bought a few different types of shaving foam and experimenting i discovered that my soap-lever3000- was giving me the best glide.
there are also 3 adjustment levels for how rigid you would like the floating head to be. medium was just right for me.
if there is a detractor at all in this shaver it is the same that it would be for all electric shavers. razor blades just shave closer. not too noticeably closer, but it does seem to me that i feel the beard coming in just a couple of minutes earlier than if i would have shaved with a blade.
i would have no problem recommending this wonderful shaver.

Strengths: Does everything as advertised--close comfortable shaves
Weaknesses: None
Summary: I have used every type of blade razor and several brands of electric razors, including Noreleco, Braun and Remington. I have sensitive skin and consider that in making a purchase. Shaving is a necessary evil and it has always been difficult to get a close shave without irratiation.
The Panasonic 8092 is absolutley the best razor I have ever owned and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a close, comfortable shave. It really does live up to the manufacturer's claims. I wish I had purchased a Panasonic years ago. If you want a geat shave, GO FOR A PANASONIC!!!!

Strengths: Overall a close shave. LED charge indicator.
Weaknesses: Cuts me, cold blade shaving experience.
Summary: It maybe the contour of my face, but so far, in an effort to get that even closer shave, I keep getting cuts and bleeding in spots. It was a surprise to first feel the cold sharp blade against my skin, a new experience for me with electric razors and not very pleasant.
I was debating between this & the Norelco Spectra (both high end units) since I had (for the past 10 years) a Norelco unit with floating heads, but after reading some other reviews, I heard the Panasonic gave a much closer shave. I was hoping I could keep from shaving twice a day, but unfortunately that's not the case with this razor. My Norelco did not give me that cold blade experience.
I have a feeling these cuts will continue, even if I were to try shaving cream, which I haven't yet, if so, I should of gone with the Norelco. It maybe, I just need to break it in some more.
The LED battery charge is a nice feature. But like the other reviewer said, the holding charge is probably a week long. Same as my old razor.
