Strengths: Grinds well
Weaknesses: Hopper not big enough
Summary: The hopper could be made a bit larger to stage more meat to be grinded as this tends to speed up the overall grinding time. Other than that its a good product for small to mid sized projects. Large meat processing projects above 40lbs is still more convenient using a butcher style high power grinder.

Strengths: Easy to use. Grinds very well, as advertised.
Weaknesses: NA
Summary: Assembly is easy and cleanup is easy. Mixer speed needs to be set to the slower end speeds and you must be careful not to put through extremely hard items. I have tried different cheeses and meats and the grinder does a great job on all the foods I stuffed in it. I haven't had any problems yet, like machine oil or cracking. Maybe I was lucky and got a Tuesday run off the assembly line.

Strengths: 1. easy to assembly/use 2. does the work and good for sausage 3. dishwasher-safe
Weaknesses: too bad it is not all stainless steel. Quality can not match the KitchenAid pasta set we bought before.
Summary: It does the work. Perfect if you have a powerful KitchenAid Stand Mixer. Very easy to assembly and to use. Dishwasher safe.

Thought the quality is good enough for a long time usage, but it still can not match the KitchenAid pasta set we bought before.

Strengths: Simple operation. Very durable. Relatively easy to clean, dishwasher safe. Comes with several great recipes.
Weaknesses: Wooden tool for pushing the food into the grinder needs to be hand-washed as do the grinder blades.
Summary: I'm pleased with the purchase of this grinder. I tried two of the salsa recipes that came with the grinder and had a nice fresh batch done in about five minutes. This truly is a simple tool to use. I would like to see them change the push tool from wood to plastic so that it could also be put into the dishwasher.

3 Star ReviewI love my grinder and haven't had any problems wit ...
Strengths: Assembly is easy. It works properly to grind meat but you need to tightly lock the ring with the wrench. I also used this attachment to make loads of baby food for my baby.
Weaknesses: Hard to clean. It would be nice if it came with a special brush to clean inside the tube.
Summary: 2004-07-25 08:55:35 I love my grinder and haven't had any problems with it. After I slice the meat into strips, I partially freeze the meat before grinding it. When I finish grinding, I take a piece of bread and grind it to push the rest of the meat through the grinder. I then take the grinder apart and rinse it out and soak it for about 5 minutes in a dishpan of hot soapy water with about a tablespoon of bleach. Wash and rinse the grinder thoroughly and lay on a terry towel to dry. I hope this helps anyone having trouble cleaning the grinder.

Strengths: Effective, easy to use
Weaknesses: NA
Summary: This is just right for small to medium grinding jobs. Obviously, if you're hosting a party for the neighborhood, it might be easier to have the local butcher do it, but it's fine for home use. There's some handwashing involved with keeping it clean, but it doesn't take that long to do.

Strengths: easy to clean, grinds in both course and fine mode
Weaknesses: NA
Summary: Did a great job on Thanksgiving leftovers with none of the gymnastics required of manual grinders. Easily connects to the KitchenAid base unit, and I found it easy to clean up once the work was done. Highly recommended!

Strengths: Grinds meat with fatty parts very well
Weaknesses: The metal part on the screw looks like it has been slightly warped. And machine oil appeared in the grinding.
Summary: This is the best grinder we've owned so far. Other than the slight metal warping, all the meat was ground up fine. We used a Professional 6 mixer and it did it quickly. We noticed some oil that appeared in the grinding, but it was from the mixer. KitchenAid said that it was not dangerous to consume it and that it will disappear in a while. The oil appeared in small bits, so we could scoop it out easily. We are very pleased with this grinder attachment.

Strengths: Easily grinds meats and cheeses, very easy to attach and use, easy to clean (we use a baby bottle cleaner which works perfectly)
Weaknesses: As mentioned in an earlier review we are also having problems with machine oil mixing in with our food
Summary: I would recommend this product to others because it is well-made and gives you more options to prepare food. We have put it to work grinding chicken, cheese, and bread without any problems (other than the machine oil). It is very easy to use and to take apart to clean.

Strengths: easy to use, well made (even though it is made of plastic), good results
Weaknesses: confusing packaging - the sausage maker attachment is actually an additional cost option
Summary: The attachment inscreases the utility of the Kitchenaid mixer. If you ever plan to use the sausage maker, be sure to order the attachment. The little product images on some web sites are misleading - we thought that we were getting the sausage maker attachment with the FGA.
