Strengths: clear on both ends, wind reduction works
Weaknesses: little weird to put on, especially in a hurry
Summary: very nice headset for the price. it is very clear and loud, with a listening volume control and mute toggle built into the line. wind reduction works - with a fan blowing at me, people could not really tell and still hear me clearly (my old headset picked it up a lot). the way you're supposed to put it on takes some practice, but is comfortable and light. i'm using this with a sony-ericsson t637 via a 2.5mm adapter and wanted clarity over the novelty, problems and price of the cheaper bluetooth sets (a couple of which i have tried and returned).

Strengths: Light weight. The ear bud projects sound comfortablely into your ear. The Inline Volume & Mute control is VERY handy. Comfortable to wear for extended amounts of time.
Weaknesses: My girlfriend has small ears and this unit doesn't fit super, but it fits OK.. The inline volume & mute controls helps to compendsate for this headset's short comings.
Summary: I like it. The voices are clean on both sides. The headset stays in your ear even while shaking my head.

The mute switch is Nice when you just need to vent at the person on the other end without getting Fired.

I researched headsets for weeks and ended up with this one. This is the second Plantronics headset I have.. Happy with the brand.

Strengths: - Nice design that fits confortably on the ear - Clear sound - Reasonable price
Weaknesses: - Slight delay while talking
Summary: I've used this headset for a week now and it is great! Calls come though very clear and it is comfortable to wear.

The only thing that I have a problem with is a slight delay in my voice while talking. It isn't bad but it is a little annoying.

Overall I am very happy that I purchased this product. It comes in handy while driving.

2 Star ReviewUncomfortable, but otherwise good
Strengths: Great sound (incoming), eliminates wind noise, volume control and mute button
Weaknesses: Uncomfortable to wear for longer than 30 minutes, looks odd when worn, mute button difficult to use
Summary: I really wanted to like this headset, but eliminating wind noise is not worth the discomfort. Here's a summary of the major things I liked/disliked:

Comfort: The earpiece that fits into your ear needs to be more round - its oval shape put too much pressure on my tragus (I had to look that up - its the little section of cartilage that sticks out over your ear canal - see www.ciprodex.com/consu...). If the long axis of the oval was vertical rather than horizontal, it might have provided a more comfortable fit. The rubber piece that fits behind your ear gets a little uncomfortable, but not too bad.

Sound: The sound coming in sounds great, a big improvement over my generic earbud wired headset. The sound of your voice recorded by the microphone is good, but a little tinny. Wind noise is not a problem at all with this unit.

Function: As others have pointed out, the MX505 should have an answer/end button, but I could have lived without it. I liked the volume wheel and the ability to mute calls, but I didn't like how they implemented the mute button. The button is very small and turning the mute on and off is not as simple or easy as it should be. You need nimble fingers to operate this button! Inserting the headset into your ear takes some practice, but isn't too difficult. The wire is just the right length, but a little stiff.

Features: It comes with both a short and long boom. The long boom is colored light gray, while the short boom is translucent with little pink sparkles. The sparkles aren't incredibly noticeable, but they do give it a little bit of a feminine touch. I preferred the look of using the short boom, but didn't like the sparkles (as a guy).

Strengths: Great sound from both ends of the conversation.
Weaknesses: An answer/end button would make this product better.
Summary: Prior to this purchase, I'd tried about three different headsets. Everytime, the person on the other end had a hard time hearing me. This headset finally solved that problem. Unfortunately, only the version for Nokia phones has an answer/end button--which would make this product more convenient to use.

Strengths: Good sound, comfortable, easy to use. Great value for the usefulness you'll get out of this handsfree ear piece.
Weaknesses: None that I observed.
Summary: This ear piece is great. It's clear and comfortable. Allows me to move all over the house with clear communications through my phone. Better than the built-in speaker phone too. Wow!

Strengths: Voice quality, fairly comfortable for long wearing once you get use to it, volume adjustment, mute capability, choice of wind tube lengths, can still hear conversations around you.
Weaknesses: No call answer and disconnect on this model.
Summary: I am hard of hearing in one ear and have shoulder problems so holding a phone when you can only hear voices in one ear is very hard and tiring. In addition I have had neck surgery so I can not just balance the phone on my shoulder, because it will make my neck really painful for days. A headset therefore became a must for me. I have bought well over 30+ headsets of all makes and models over the years trying to find one that I can hear clearly and the person on the other end of the line can hear me clearly as well. All of the other headsets but this one are residing in a junk drawer in my desk. The voice quality is exceptional on this headset. The ability to choose between 2 clear tubes of different lengths, that can be gently bent into a perfect position for the mike placement near my mouth to increase voice quality is a great asset. I also like the fact that the design lets the phone attach from under my ear, and not over my ear, which means that it is very comfortable when you are wearing glasses. As I said, I can only hear and understand voices in one ear so the design on the earpiece does not totally fill the ear canal so that I can hear if someone else in the room is talking to me, or even car noises around me in case I need to react to traffic is a major plus for me. I use this headset both on my cellular and home phones, and it holds up well to use. Since the microphone is really in the ear piece and the windtube is just a conduit to the microphone, I find that it is not as susceptible to breakage and wear and tear as other headsets. Lastly, I had a problem with a broken wire on one of these headsets close to a year after I bought it. I called Plantronics, and they had me read them some numbers off the headset, and they sent me a replacement in under 10 days before I had to send the one I purchased back. While it is a little pricey at $29 it was well worth it since it both holds up well do to the design, and my friends can not tell I am talking to them on a headset. This is the only model I will ever buy again.

Strengths: GREAT anti-wind technology...sound quality is very good, much better than 2 other headsets i've tried in the past
Weaknesses: looks a little dorky, especially the tan colored version (i thought i was getting the white/clear one)
Summary: 2006-05-27 15:19:34 easy to use, good sound quality (especially the anti-wind technology). i bike a lot, and the people i talked to couldn't even tell that i was outside. works a lot better than the other headsets I've tried in the past. the microphone boom is a little long and the headset is a bit unwieldy, but overall an excellent choice for the price.

Strengths: Lightweight, convenient, good sound quality (both directions)
Weaknesses: No call answer button on MX505 with 2.5mm jack
Summary: Just got this and immediately tried it. It is comfortable. Very lightweight. The volume and mute gizmo is a little heavy, but there is a clothes clip, that helps.

Not sure yet, how the sound coming in will be while driving the car. The earphone part fits well, but does not totally fill the ear canal, thus other sounds may enter.

The mike works good.

COmfort and fit are OK. I find that I need to adjust the position frequently because it does not stay put. It does not slip off either, just moves around a bit.

Call answer button is ONLY available on Nokia compatible models.

Strengths: -good connection to phone -good to excellent sound quality for incoming audio -most people agree they can hear me better when I am using it -works with my nokia phone (using the 2.5mm version)
Weaknesses: -actual earpiece isn't amazingly comfortable -little difficult to get on in a hurry -awkward shape makes it difficult to wrap up compactly
Summary: Overall, an excellent headset. I would have ideally liked something a bit more compact, but from what I read this is one of the few wired headsets available which is both durable and produces both high quality incoming and outgoing audio. I did (probably too much) research on this purchase, and I am even though I'm not perfectly satisfied, this does appear to be essentially the best option available for a wired headset.

Strengths: NA
Weaknesses: NA
Summary: Generally speaking a good headset. I sometimes have trouble hearing others at its maximum volume, but that is its only real weakness. Comfortable to wear and natural to talk on. Would definitely recommend to others, good value for the money.

Strengths: Lightweight, very comfortable, clear
Weaknesses: Only one weakness ... the rubber "behind the ear" piece is likely to eventually split. However it took my first one 3 years for that to happen. So, for me, it's not really a concern.
Summary: This headset works very well. It's comfortable enough for me that I have made the mistake, more than once, of forgetting I am wearing it and walking away from my desk while still wearing it.

Strengths: Lightweight, good value, great quality, and easy to use.
Weaknesses: The headset was not appropriate for some of the older model mobile phones used by my staff.
Summary: I purchased headsets for all of my staff in advance of the new California "hands free" driving legislation. The headsets that I purchased fit most of their cell phones, and represent a high quality product that is very reasonably priced. We are very satisfied with the product.
