Weaknesses: - Limited auxillary inputs in the back.
Summary: Fantastic system! Having gone through other Pioneer models like the HTD-520DV and HTZ-625(dv) systems, as well as listening to others by JVC and Sony, this system really landed on top. While shopping, I normally had to expect to give up one feature to get another, but this little package offers it all! Having gone through two system exchanges because of being dissatisfied with the products, I am very happy with this purchase. You really appreciate a good system when you know what a mediocre product sounds like! Helpful features include Dialogue Enhancement for movies filled with an explosive soundtrack, Midnight Mode for late night listening, and a virtual surround back for getting a rear speaker effect. I'm not 100% sure if this is a 6.1 classification, but according to Pioneer's website, it is a Dolby/DTS ES/EX decoder system. This system also features Progressive Scan for HD television users. A safe buy in my book. Recommendations : 1. Buy speaker stands for the rear surround speakers. See the www.dolby.com... site for speaker placement. 2. Get a media changer. I bought mine at Radio Shack for $49 Canadian. If you have more than a VCR to input, you will need one.
