Strengths: Previously owning the PDP-5080HD from Pioneer I can tell you the PRO-111FD picture is not disapointing. The black background is the deepest of any plasma I have reviewed.
Weaknesses: Sadly the PRO-111FD does not have the anti glare screen of the PDP-5080HD so if the anti-glare is more important than adjusting the screen opt for the PDP-5080HD instead.
Summary: The PRO-111FD is possibly the best Plasma TV Pioneer ever built as mentioned under weaknesses its only flaw (if you consider it a flaw) is the lack of anti-glare coating on the big screen. If you have a dark viewing room where room lights are not an issue then it may not be for you. The new for 2009 advanced controls and home networking to access media from your home computer make viewing HD images an event. The PRO-111FD has enough connections to handle any type of home media center setup and the HDMI connections a smart enough to tell your other equipment when it needs control. The picture image is rated the best of all 50" Plasma's in the CNet Editors Choice Reviews and they have listed settings on their website to help you go through the settings they used to test the PRO-111FD. I have to say either the PDP-5080HD or the PRO-111FD are tied for the best overall plasma in my opinion. Just choose if you need anti-glare or advanced settings. Better hurry though Pioneer has announced they are discontinuing their HD TV's.
