Strengths: Beats trying to cut stuff by hand, manually.
Weaknesses: Doesn't store nicely. Flimsy construction makes consistent cutting unachievable.
Summary: I buy the yummiest Gouda cheese and Tillamook Cheddar cheese at Costco and Sam's Club. Obviously these come in bulk, block size. I envisioned using this slicer deli style, zipping through slices of cheese for future enjoyment. Unfortunately, the construction of this unit makes it really hard to achieve consistent even slices. I knew this item wasn't commercial grade, but for a slicer it should have been constructed more firmly. I also envisioned this slicer would fold up nicely and store easily. Unfortunately, it doesn't. There's no way to wrap the cord inside the unit for storing (you have to wrap it around the unit freestyle) and the piece that holds whatever you’re slicing needs to be stored separately.

Strengths: Able to make thin slices from frozen meat
Weaknesses: Slicer does not work as well when the meat edge starts to melt
Summary: I bought this slicer to create thin slices of meat with a Rib-Eye that I buy from Costco. The slicer is cheap; however, it works better than I expected. It is also easy to clean. It is really nice to be able to make slices with the thickness that I want using a quality meat.

Strengths: Easy to use, Fold-up, Price
Weaknesses: Unsafe to dishwasher
Summary: I bought it from Walmart. At first, I thought it would be compact and small, but it was quite bulky. However, I have totally satisfied with this slicer. It is easy to operate to slice. It has a safety button, so you don't have to worry about cut your finger while cutting something. But the cutter is so sharp that you have to be careful to handle to wash.

I prefer thin meat like deli cut ham but it is difficult to find those meat in market. It makes possible to make a ultra thin meat. It was unbelivable to make it all by myself. Now I have one more job to do (cutting meat). However I am happy to have this slicer because I can make any thickness.

Strengths: simple to use
Weaknesses: not dishwasher safe
Summary: I bought a Rival Electric Food Slicer 1042-WP from Wal-mart.com. It's really simple to operate, and easy to clean. But if it can be put in the dishwasher, it'll be much better!! I use it to cut really thin meat, it's perfect for my cook. :)

Strengths: Easier Blade Removal. Safety Control Switch.
Weaknesses: Food Pusher no longer folds up. Still has grooves and spaces difficult to clean.
Summary: If you're looking for a professional grade counter hogging table saw, this ain't it. If you want a slicer that can be easily stored and are not too fussy, the Rival will do nicely.

Strengths: Plastic construction yet still quite sturdy, does a good job making thin slices, convenient to operate and clean
Weaknesses: Main unit folds compactly for storage, but you are left with two additional unattached pieces to store separately
Summary: This unit costs much less than its competitors, yet it is sturdily constructed (of plastic) and does a great job slicing meat. It is easy to disassemble for cleaning, and all of the parts that get dirtiest can be submerged in water for cleaning.

It can make very thin slices and does a neat, clean job overall. You can slice fairly large (though not huge) chunks of meat.

This is a great choice for occasional slicing.

Strengths: easy to use, price
Weaknesses: unable to dishwasher
Summary: I have thoroughly enjoyed having this slicer. I use meat and other methods of slicing have not been completely satisfactory. This slicer does the trick. You can't just run the slicer easily back and forth with meat, you have to manually return the meat to the starting position, but that's no big deal. This is just so much better than other things I have tried, and without spending hundreds of dollars (or more) on a professional slicer. Well worth the money, wouldn't want to be without it.

Strengths: Powerful, Easy to operate, Quiet, Easy to dissamble for cleaning
Weaknesses: Many parts to clean, Hands get tired when slicing for a longer period
Summary: I like my new slicer. It is time saving and the slices are even. I've been using it to slice up big pieces of ham and the results are very nice. A little hard to use the thinnest settings but it might be because of lack of practice.

A good purchase!
