2 Star ReviewIn summary I would say buy another graphics card, ...
Strengths: Decent frame speed and great color after several hours of trying to find a copy of working drivers.
Weaknesses: Very poor Tec support!! Does not work well with xp pro, not very compatable with VIA motherboard chips!
Summary: In summary I would say buy another graphics card, this one is not worth the money for all the time spent to get it running. With the poor tech support you will be roaming blind trying to figure out the correct BIOS and card settings, and don't be surprised when you boot it up the first time and your OS doesn't load.

Strengths: Antialiasing,8x agp, DirectX 9.0 support
Weaknesses: Didn't acheive that significant of a performance increase over high end GeForce4 cards if any.
Summary: This isn't that bad of a video card. To me it's about on par with a Ti4200 4x 64mb but it has better performance when antialiasing is used compared to that same card. For a price of about $100 it's what I think is a better deal than the GeForce4 Ti 4200 was. If you need something with more performance...along the lines of the Fx5900 Utra and the ATI radeon 9800 than steer clear of this card. It's about the level of a Geforce4 Ti4200 64mb ,Radeon 8500 128mb. For a mainstream user unobsessed with benchmarks it's better than just OK. As for drivers...Nvidia updates them quite regularly ,and they're compatible with the TNT on up ; so that's a +

Strengths: Will play Half Life 2 and Doom 3, FSAA, Bundled with games- Splinter Cell or Morrowind.
Weaknesses: Will not play Half Life 2 or Doom 3 at max res with a brilliant framerate.
Summary: The drivers supplied with most cards need updated straight away so that's not a problem. Each new driver is getting more from the card.

As for framerate, people you must understand this is not a 5950 or 5900. So it is best to keep games at around 1023-768, and not at full.

It is not just the card that determines the overall performance, processer speed and ram have alot to do with the graphical performance as well as your agp slot too. This has agp 8x, it will work in a 2 and 4x slot but at a cost to the performance. It would be best judged in a 8x slot.

This is a good card. Try out Moto Gp 2, or Unreal 2 they worked brilliantly on my computer. Both look fantastic. It can also play new games Deux Ex Invisible War decently as it has pixel shaders, looks amazing!

If didn't already have it, I wouldn't buy though, I'd keep saving for a 5950 or 5900, maybe a 9800 XT too.

Ideal if you are on a budget!

Strengths: great for the price i paid, good framerates, can display almost all the goodies in most current games
Weaknesses: not the fastest out there.. bundled drivers have issues, must download new detonator 40 right away
Summary: 2003-07-29 20:50:57 i only paid 100 bucks for the card and i m completly happy with what i bought... of course if i didnt have internet acces i would have been screwed, the initial driver blows, but the windows patch and and D40 drivers solved any problems i had
