Strengths: Affordable. Reliable anti-skip. Clear sound. Long battery life.
Weaknesses: No tags. Uncomfortable headphones. To select tracks on mp3 disks, there must be inserted pauses (most programs to it automatically, but some don't).
Summary: 2003-11-03 20:19:10 For the price, I am truly satisfied with this product. The remote is handy. The HOLD feature is very useful. The button layout is well thought out. The battery tray is inside the player, which means no more tape holding batteries in a broken battery door. It doesn't skip, the sound is completely clear and I'm getting around 12+ hours of use from rechargeable Energizer batteries before I recharge them for the following day (there appears to be a few more hours charge left at that time).

I'd be lying if I said it doesn't have any weaknesses. It feels a bit flimsy, though that isn't a problem because I use a Case Logic holder. The volume, while perfect in my opinion, will not satisfy those who listen to their music extremely loud. The headphones are uncomfortable, but the sound quality is good. If this is a problem, you could just use another headset. If your like me, you have 4 or 5 laying around from old players. To select tracks in mp3 mode, there must be pauses inserted between songs during recording.

All in all, the price and features add up to a bargain.

Strengths: Sleek design, works well. Excellent battery life. Easy to use for exercising. Panasonic brand name.
Weaknesses: Headphones aren't very durable. Sound quality. Size is large compared to MP3 players, but not regular CD players.
Summary: I purchased this from Amazon.com after reviewing the ratings. I looked at other models, but this one seemed the best for the price. I own a Rio SP90 that I like, but this one is better.

If you are looking for an MP3 player, then buy an iPod or a straight up MP3 player. But if you want to have the advantage of playing CDs and MP3s without the uploading and downloading, then an MP3/CD player is the way to go.

Strengths: Seems to be well built and durable, good sound quality, easy to use.
Weaknesses: Read-outs hard to see without adequate light.
Summary: This is my first portable CD player, so I have nothing to compare it to. However, Consumer Reports rated Panasonic portable CD players as among the best that they tested and this seemed to be the best available in this price range. I've been very pleased with the sound quality of both the player and the headphones. CR stated that the headphones for portable CD players are usually lacking in quality and probably will have to be upgraded (at an additional cost), but these headphones are excellent in my opinion. Also, I find this player to be very easy to use. The buttons are a little small, but overall design of the player and the placement of the buttons and displays make this a very attractive player. The remote is an added nice touch. Overall, I would buy this again and recommend it to others. The only reason I didn't give it a top rating of 5 stars is because, again, being my first portable CD player, I have no idea how it compares to others.

Strengths: Solid player. Good Constuction. Built to last.
Weaknesses: Volume doesn't go loud enough.
Summary: Like the player except for the volume. Does not play loud enough. Great futuristic design. Remote control component makes device easy to use. With the strong construction of the device, it should withstand any type of falls or accidental droppings. If the volume would go louder, this device would be perfect.

Strengths: Response for the mp3 were amazingly fast. I thought it would be slower. Very nice display. Got a wired remote, a plus. Digital volume control .
Weaknesses: Cannot select desire mp3,need to go through track by track. So if u have 100 mp3,to go the the 50 track,u have to press 50 times. Volume is loud with the given headphone but not with other headphone.
Summary: 2003-11-15 01:05:57 The EQ sucks. Worst than the old Panasonic I have. Wired remote a bit too big. Button on the player are pretty small as I have fat fingers. And for some reason, they placed the buttons at the back of the player not the usual front button, so if you need to adjust the EQ or Volume, you have to turn the player 180 degrees ! Volume is very disappointing as I love to listen to loud music. The only reason I was attracted to this player is because its was on sale and it plays mp3. But now I have to take more time to organize my mp3. The push button feature, to release the CD, is not part of the player now. That's a waste. But all, in all, for the price, its a pretty sweet deal.
