Strengths: No coasters, longevity. can cleanly write on disc surface
Weaknesses: a little more expensive
Summary: I made the switch from Verbatim to Taiyo Yuden after the 100 pack Verbatims started coming in the infamous "orange" wrappers which apparently are made in India and not the former Taiwan. Anyway, this was a blessing in disguise as it cause me to make the switch and I'm really glad I did. I love these discs - not a coaster yet and over 100 successful burns. I was getting only about an 80% successful burn rate from the Verbatims. I think it's worth the extra expense - you generally get what you pay for.
