Strengths: Daughter loves it, lots to do here
Weaknesses: Hard for a small kid to turn the sprinkles out
Summary: This has got to be one of the best thought out play doh toys yet. My 5-year-old daughter loves it, and will play almost by herself with this toy for an hour. The set comes with 4 cans of play-doh in brown, pink, green, and white sprinkle play-doh. You will need more sprinkle play doh quick. There are over 40 molds to create tiny confections and decorate your ice cream creations. It also comes with two plastic cones for making 'ice cream', two sundae plastic containers, a plastic cake that can be decorated (but its very small), 3 spoons, etc.
The attachments to create swirls of ice cream, many toppings, and sprinkles are all easy to fit. My daughter has a little trouble with the sprinkle crank, and often asks for help. However with a little effort she could probably do this by herself. Kids less than 4 years old may find it a little too hard to turn.
This is definitely one of my daughter's favorites of the Play Doh sets that we have and it has been keeping her occupied for good amounts of time. She has about 7 different ones, and this and the flower maker are the only ones we see her reaching for. This is differently a fun and valued Play Doh set that will encourage 4-7 year old to create and play by them selves.
