I am very much impressed even when i played old kids cartoon VHS, it came out so nice and sharp colorful video. It got very powerful audio. Even small volume level is more than sufficient to hear. It also provide different options in audio setting. I also bought new Progressive scan DVD player with HDMI out. Quality came out more nicer. Other thing i liked is that it provides wide options for audio, video connections. You can connect regular RCA, S-Video, component cable, DVI, etc. It lacks HDMI input. That forced me to buy HDMI to DVI adapter from store. Hope protron includes that too in their future models. It does not have sturdy base, so I feel scared when my kids touch on its body. I got very nice deal in sears for this in 1st half of feb. Price was lowest (no rebates) and they give another 10% off if you open sears card. I compared the same with other braded models of sony, samsung, panasonic etc, but they were almost double priced. I would give 5 start to this product even though it is not great brand name but includes all cool feature of branded one. 83% of People (5/6) found this review helpful. It has striking, vivid colours, easy-to-read on-screen menus and is perfect for antenna-only options. It picks up local channels clearly and does not fade out with weather related problems. The base is sturdy, it goes well with modern to eclectic furniture arrangments. Summary: I thought this was a "Proton" TV, but it's really a "Protron" :( Descriptions for Protron products falsely use the "Proton" name here and elsewhere, eg, Shopnbc.
