Strengths: Dvd-mp3, aux-in, lots of features, sweet price
Weaknesses: no separate control for bass and treble only one pair of pre-outs
Summary: I have been checking this player for about 6 months now and have been waiting for the prices to come down.

I got an amazing deal at this local CC in Houston for 210 bucks and got it installed quickly.

Other than the price, the unit really packs a lot of features - and it sounds very good too - now that I have it installed.

Key points -

- There is not a huge difference in the sound between the factory installed CD-player and this one. I guess the one installed by Mitsubishi in my 2001 Mirage was a good quality CD-player (as is with the Mitsubishi eclipse)

- I did not need a kit despite all indications pointing towards that. Only harness was needed - so there I saved 22 bucks - so please double-check before you buy the kit and harness.

- the player has a fully customizable user equalizer setting, but it does not have a separate bass and treble control that players generally have - not a biggie but just FYI.

- It has only one pair of pre-outs - so that may be a nuisance when upgrading to subwoofer and 4-channels. If only upgrading to subwoofer then no problem.

Overall - great player- -Highly recommended.

Strengths: -reads dvd of mp3 -support satellite radio (need some add. hardware) -support dvd movies (need some add. hardware) -*** Front line-in jack... great for plugging IPOD ****
Weaknesses: NA
Summary: The 2 previous reviews say it all, except that you CAN fast forward songs by holding the "next song" button. Great for ipod owner...you can get rid of the damn fm tuner.

great car radio! great sound!

Highly recommended.

Strengths: This deck can play mp3's on CD/DVD and Dual Layer DVDs (DVD+R DL), DVD video and of course regular CD's. It also has 2 stereo audio inputs (RCA and headphone jack) and a RCA video out.
Weaknesses: No fast forward or rewind with mp3’s on any media format. Also, with the mp3’s if you turn the deck off and then back on, the song that was playing last will start from the beginning
Summary: I also got a great deal at Circuit City in Ohio when they had it advertised for $250. I thought this was a good deal, but when I got in store it was actually $210… so I grabbed it. This is replacing my JVC KD-SX980 (a mp3 CD player, which had the fast forward and rewind features as well as remembering where the song left off when shut-down.) So those are the only 2 things that have disappointed me with this new deck, espically since my older deck had them. But in all fairness, this deck is great, and I don’t really find the need of using the fast forward and reverse too often. And I can live with listening to the same song if I take short trip, or I can always change to the next song at the push of the button.

Also, I did not need a kit to install into my dash of a 94 Toyota Landcruiser, I only needed a wiring harness. I believe all earlier Toyotas (before 98) don’t need a dash mount kit either.

CONCLUSION:

If you really need the fwd and rwd for mp3s don’t get this, otherwise it’s a great deck. And other than having an iPod capable deck, you can’t argue with 1100 songs on a Dual layer DVD and playing movies on any size screen you can put in your car, all while keeping the deck low key.
