 This product worked fine for five months and then ... Strengths: price
Weaknesses: poor quality, short warranty
Summary: This product worked fine for five months and then completely quit working...would not power on. A call to Polaroid resulted in no satisfaction. Only a 90-day warranty, but they would have gladly replaced it $169 -- almost the cost of a new unit. Stay away from Polaroid and any of their products.

FDM 0700A Sucks
Strengths: None
Weaknesses: Many
Summary: Bought this at Nebraska Furniture Mart (NFM) last June in Omaha, NE when it was on sale. Saved it as a Christmas gift for my wife. It is an out-of-box failure. Polaroid will not do anything about it since it has a 90 day warranty. NFM won't refund my money since they have a 30 day refund policy on electronics. I'm stuck with this lemon. Think I'll take it back to NFM and smash it on their doorstep!

NOT WORTH THE TROUBLE
Strengths: NICE WHILE IT LASTED
Weaknesses: ONLY WORKED 29 DAYS!!
Summary: I received this for x-mas and loved it. But this morning I turned it on and 5 min. later it went dead. When I searched online for a replacement I encountered nothing but terrible reviews. It seems this same thing has happened to everyone who purchased this product and Polaroid is of no help. Luckily I could still return mine, but I will not be purchasing another Polaroid one to replace it. Hopefully this review and the others will save you the headache of a brocken item after drilling holes into your cabinets.

Polaroid FDM-0700A
Strengths: Clear picture, slim design, flexible screen.
Weaknesses: Sound quality not favorably compared to less expensive models.
Summary: Apparently we were fortunate that it worked for an entire year. Suddenly this morning I turned it on, went to adjust the volume and it went dead. The power supply is working so something inside the unit must have burned out. Based on the other comments I won't try to replace it with an identical model nor can I recommend it. What a shame.

Another unhappy consumer!
Strengths: Great when it was working.
Weaknesses: Broke after 1 year, issue with power supply, my friend had same problem, his broke in 8 months
Summary: Luckily Home Depot gave my friend and I both store credit for this rip off piece of crap.
DO NOT BUY IT!!!! GARBAGE! No one will repair it including the manufacturer. From other reviews I have read, it is not even worth repairing because it breaks again!

do not purchase until they get the quirks out
Strengths: lots of features, good picutre, nice size, convenient
Weaknesses: after 6 months it simply stopped working. went to adjust the radio and the whole unit shorted. called polaroid and they are acknowledging the problem but will only replace for $110.
Summary: until polaroid updates the units to reflect the problem they see happening i would not buy another one. they said they are seeing alot of this, the power shorts and sometimes it blows the screen. they offered to sell me a new cord to see if that is the problem, or to replace for another $110. after paying around $250 6 months ago this is not a great offer. disappointed in customer service support.

Strengths: All the pieces were in the box.
Weaknesses: Polaroid Service
Summary: Mine worked fine for a while and then it wouldn't come on just like everyone elses. Was there a recall?
With a product like this one and their customer service, it won't surpirise me if they go the way of GM. They are going to miss me when they're gone.

polaroid under counter TV/DVD
Strengths: really none
Weaknesses: This unit is a piece of crap, lasted about one year and now I have no pic, the LCD has gone bad, and polaroid has no idea why. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON BUYING THIS UNIT. I wont buy polaroid again.
Summary: Piece of crap. We bought this unit about one year ago, and it has worked fine until about 3 weeks ago. Now we have no pic. We have sound, but no pic, the LCD has gone bad, and polaroid has no idea why. This unit is a piece of crap,save your money and dont buy it.

DON'T BUY THIS PRODUCT - It doesn't rate ONE star!
Strengths: Cute design, but
Weaknesses: Cute design doesn't fit standard kitchen cupboards
Technically inferior product
Summary: I've gone through TWO of these but only because I couldn't get a refund from Radio Shack after the first one blew. Neither lasted more than two months. I'm told they were blown out by power surges and should have been on surge protectors. This is NOT stated in any of the material that came with the unit.
There just isn't anything nice to say about the product or the "Tough luck, sucker" attitude of Polaroid. It's been a very frustrating experience.

Polaroid Undercounter TV = BAD!
Strengths: Cosmetically, looks great!
Weaknesses: Works for about 8 months....enough to be out of warranty...then screen goes dark.
Summary: Bought the Polaroid FDM-0700A undercounter TV at Circuit City for $279. Lasted 8 months, then screen went black. This is a common problem with this model unit....I just wish I had known earlier!

This is a Lemon
Strengths: Great picture while working
Weaknesses: Essentially it is garbage
Summary: I got mine for my birthday in January 2006 and the picture went out after three months. I took it back to Target and they traded it for a new one. This one just went out as well after 5 months. I called Polaroid and they asked me me to send it to them with $60 and they would give me a new one. The "new one" arrived today and it is a different product. I will try this one but don't ecpect much. Customer service at Polaroid was rude and I asked for a supervisor who was also rude and of no help to me. The one I just received did not come with a receipt or even a packing slip so I will have no way of proving when I received it if it is also a lemon. DO NOT BUY THESE POLAROID PRODUCTS.

Good while it lasted
Strengths: Excellent concept/design - clear picture
Weaknesses: Placement of speakers does not allow for great sound, longevity
Summary: The reviews here sound very familiar - I purchased my unit on 12/11/05...the LCD backlight went out 7/7/06. I, too, called Polaroid and was offered the "deal" to return it (so they can refurb and sell elsewhere?) and they would send me a new unit for $110. No thanks. Oh, and they don't repair this particular item and said it would probably be more than the $110 replacement cost to fix it anyway. Fabulous!
Thankfully, I was able to return the darned thing to Sam's Club for a full refund. I am looking for a replacement because I truly love the design, but I will DEFINITELY not buy another Polaroid. If they do not believe in their own products enough to warranty them for longer than 90 days, I am not interested in owning them.

Strengths: Compact, flexible screen, magnetized remote, great design
Weaknesses: Longevity. 179 days for me !!
Summary: Received this product from my husband for Christmas. He is a master electrician and product was installed correctly.
Yesterday, I turned it on and it turned off, never to turn on again.
