Strengths: Great specifications for the price, Great looking glossy Fusion finish, Superb Harman Kardon speakers, Built-in webcam and mic, DVD multiburner with LabelFlash, a/b/g/n wireless LAN.
Weaknesses: No S-Video port, No built-in bluetooth, Touchpad feels smaller than usual, Glossy finish is a magnet for fingerprints, Bunch of useless preinstalled trial software.
Summary: I liked the look of this laptop right out of the box. It has glossy Fusion finish that makes it look like a fancy sport car. Even keyboard has glossy finish. It also has fancy white led lights that make laptop look like UFO. 14.1" is a nice compromise for weight and portability.
Screen is also very bright delivering rich colors. I love Harman Kardon stereo speakers, which are the best built-in speakers for laptops. My old Toshiba Satellite M35-S359 also has Harman Kardon speakers, so I knew what I was buying. Those who like to listen to music a lot will be pleased with the quality of speakers' sound. Performance is very good for basic needs such as word processing and internet browsing. For basic games its graphics media accelerator is fine too. If you're a serious gamer though, then you better get something better with a dedicated graphics memory. Didn't come with separate Vista reinstalling DVD, instead Vista and laptops drivers are put on one recovery DVD. However, I was able to find drivers for Windows XP on Toshiba website and downloaded them all. So, I may consider reformatting HDD and installing Windows XP rather than keeping heavy Vista OS. With such specifications Windows XP will be running perfectly smooth, though Vista seems running fine to me. Overall I'm very pleased with this laptop that I bought on sale and highly recommend this particular model.
