No software updates available for codes to control devices introduced after May 2007
Strengths: Fully flexible design and programming of individual screens. The touch screen is large (can easily accomodate 20 buttons).
Weaknesses: No updates of software and remote codes database from manufacturer since May 2007 unless obtained through an "authorized" dealer.
Summary: I bought this online through eBay. Despite a news article to the contrary on the otherwise excellent review site remotecentral.com, the manufacturer, URC, will NOT allow you to download recent versions of the software needed to control the remote. This includes any update of the remote codes database since May of 2007. Since there are (and will be) many new LCD and plasma TV models since then, this renders the remote almost useless to anyone buying it either second-hand or online (unless you are willing to "learn" dozens of remote commands from each device's existing remote one command at a time . This in turn greatly limits the resale value of this remote, even if it were purchased from an "authorized" dealer. I would never have purchased mine if I had known this in advance but would have gone instead with a Phillips Pronto model.
