Strengths: The unit fits below a plasma TV. Sound is clean with good presence.
Weaknesses: Not as spatial as a higher end speaker (Mirage)
Summary: When I bought my plasma the Klipsch center channel had to go (to the bedroom with the previous TV). Only the Bose VCS-10 would also fit below the TV but it sounded rather muddy when I heard them. I thought the Mirage OMNISAT would fit but although I would have paid the price, it was about an inch too tall. The Yamahas are clean, with good presence and keep up with my AR fronts and Paradigm sub at high volumes without distorting using an ONKYO 901 receiver. It definitely helps to fill in the sound. I bought these more for the playback of music rather than watching TV. The plasma (pioneer elite) already has better speakers than I had expected. For the price I would rate these as a bargain.

Strengths: The size is a perfect fit in my cabinet. The sound is solid with a very good frequency range. Exceptional for its size.
Weaknesses: None so far.
Summary: I needed to replace a larger center speaker with one that would fit in our new cabinet. The old one was a Yamaha and was very good but is twice the size of this one. I am amazed at the quality of sound produced. I do have a high end amplifier driving it. I would recommend this unit for those with limited space.

Strengths: Slim and powerfull.
Weaknesses: none
Summary: I bought this center channel speaker because the Bose VCS10 was more expensive and highly over-rated in my opinion. The Yamaha has a tweeter and 4 small mid-range woofers built of durable plastic with rubber surrounds instead of the just two paper built woofers and no tweeter like the Bose VCS10 has. Sound is very good overall and powerful and covers a decent frequency range. It even comes with a magnetically detachable cloth screen in case you want to show off what's beneath it. The Yamaha NS-C225 is also available in black and in a less expensive 2 woofer little brother. Overall, a nice center speaker.

Strengths: Sounds good and small size.
Weaknesses: None so far.
Summary: The reason I purchased this speaker was for the size as I only had a small place and most of the other center speakers I was looking at would not fit. So far this speaker has worked out pretty good.
