Strengths: MX PC editor, Customization (macros on any button, press and hold for alt command), Editable LCD, Style, IR range, All hard buttons, Can control everything but the kitchen sink
Weaknesses: Expensive, Can't operate all buttons with one hand as remote is large
Summary: Universal Remote Control makes quality products with the consumer in mind. I started looking at their consumer series with the URC-200. I switched to the MX-350 as I found it for the same price and it could do multiple RF addressing. I the decided to go with the MX-650 as it had double the LCD buttons. Thus I could have 10 devices and 10 functions per device on a single LCD page without having to page through to get to all the commands. With 9 devices and more than 10 custom functions per device I did not want to constantly be paging. I finally settled on the MX-850 as I found it (bundled with the MRF-250) for only $30 more than the 650 bundle. I am certainly glad I spent the extra money as the MX editor is invaluable for allowing you to easily move, rename, and configure the LCD buttons. I also like the black finish of the MX-850 better than the silver of the lesser models. I have just started programming my home theater macros but from everything I have experienced anything that is controllable via IR can be learned and managed by this remote. In addition the MX editor allows you to manipulate the remote from your PC with a keyboard - much easier than the MX-650. The pc editor also gives you the flexibility to save several remote configs so it is easy to "go back" if you do not like changes that you have made. I previously used an One4All home producer and let me tell you that the WAF (wife acceptance factor) on this is great.
