3 Star ReviewCurrently the fastest single Video card. Even this ...
Strengths: The best & fastest single video card ever. Even Gamespot said so...
Weaknesses: x900 Will dominate this in a few months. I suggest waiting for x900 instead of getting this. The sad part about this chip is the lack of no support for SM 3.0!
Summary: Currently the fastest single Video card. Even this single VPU smoked out NVIDIA's greatest single 6800 ULTRA. NVIDIA had to use their SLI technology to win the x850XT over on some games (OpenGL games that has SLI technology in it...). See it even takes 2 6800 Ultras to beat one little x850XT. But its best to not buy this card though. Radeon x900 is coming soon in June as expected. This thing is rumored to be x2 to x3 faster than the greatest x850XT PE. Imagine if you put two Radeon x950XT PE in ATI's upcoming Multi-Rendering technology. But that is unnessary when one card can kill all the competitors anyways. So please note that this card shouldn't even be purchase. Save your cash till June. You will enjoy the x900 : ) or maybe x950 =D

Strengths: Best agp card u can get! this thing is a beast it can handle any game out there right now.
Weaknesses: Its agp and its a dying breed.
Summary: Get this card if u have a motherboard that is agp and cant or don't want to upgrade to a pci-e motherboard. This card will be good for a while to come and by then you will have to upgrade your whole system anyhow. Get this one you will be happy you did.

Strengths: Faster than 6800 Ultra, Only requires 350watt power supply, Great for HL AND Doom 3!
Weaknesses: Slightly more expensive than 6800 Ultra, Uses Catalyst drivers(which from time to time are buggy)
Summary: I purchased this card from Space Center Systems a little over a week ago and paid $640 total including tax, anx 2 day shipping.. the price is now at $499 which means it went down $100 in a week? Wow... sucks for me.

Anyways its a GREAT card! Before this I had a 6800 Ultra OC and scored a 5130 on 3DMark05. With the EXACT same system configuration, the x850xt PE gave mea 5900! thats almost 800 points! On top of that ATI comes with an overclocking tool, so there is even MORE room for improvement.

I primarly play Counter-Strike Source and Condition Zero. I can play condition zero on max settings at the highest resolution at 100fps at ALL times. 10000 smokes, whatever -- no problem. In source I had it at full settings and it played great, but it would skip every few seconds.. it turns out it was a problem with the catalyst drivers. I turned the settings down a bit and now I have no skipping and I havne't noticed any decrease in quality.

Like the 6800 Ultra this card requires 2 slots, but that seems to be the standard in these extreme gaming cards. The x850xt pe has the advantage right now because it only requires a meager 350 watt power supply, which should be pretty standard. If you dont have a 350watt power supply, your system probably isn't up to par with this card anyway.

This card is a GREAT choice. I PREFER Nvidia generally, but ATi has definitely stolen my heart this time around.

Strengths: High performance, great price.
Weaknesses: None yet. Fan is NOT loud except for 5 seconds during bootup of system. Otherwise very quiet.
Summary: I have the X850xt AGP version (but not the Platinum Edition). I merely use the ATI overdrive tool (included with card) to set speeds to the PE levels while playing games only. It then drops back to stock speeds when not playing games. I get PE performance and I paid less then $250 total. Saved $75 at least.

This is an elite AGP video card at a very reasonable cost and it was much easier to find. It will keep my system viable for a long time to come. I have ASUS A8V Deluxe mobo with Athlon 64 3200 cpu and twin 512 mb dual channnel memory dimms (1GB total)in Antec Sonata Case w/380 watt power. Hard Drive is single West-Dig. 120gb w/8mb cache 7200rpm.

This card will match up well with my planned upgrade to Athlon 64 FX cpu in near future as well as West. Dig. Sata hard drives w/16mb cache in Raid setup. If you're committed to keeping your AGP mobo, this is best performance/value out there.

Strengths: Probably one of the last great AGP cards to be made. I haven't heard much about the x900's, but when I found this card for $250 AR, I had no excuse NOT to upgrade from my 9600xt. FAST
Weaknesses: How they skipped SM 3.0 is beyond me.
Summary: 2005-12-30 21:57:18 I really wanted a vanilla 6800 for the longest time because I liked the idea of getting a 16 pipeline card for approximately 160 bucks. Those cards have become rare and regularly sell for $180 which didn't seem worth it to me anymore. When I found the x850XT for $300, and a $50 rebate on top of that, I couldn't skip it! True 16 pipes, 256meg DDR3 ram.. that was worth it right there. I primarily play Counter Strike Source and this card let's in run beautifully. The textures are much more surreal than my 9600xt could ever hope! I would not have bought this for $350, but I'm not the type of person who could ever justify a $400 dollar video card. If i hadn't found this for $250 AR, I would never have experienced this level of video graphics.
