Strengths: The anti-skip feature works very well. Unit has good sound for the price.
Weaknesses: None noticed thus far.
Summary: We purchased this unit for our daughter who usually listens to audio CDs, but who also wanted the capability to listen to MP3s. The ID3 tag feature is a nice touch on a unit in this price range. The music controls are well laid out and easy to to understand and use. Top-end volume could be stronger, but is sufficient for normal and moderate noise environments.

Strengths: It did seem to be of basic quality and played all the mp3's i tested on it. I like the battery use estimates but didn't get to use it that much.
Weaknesses: Weak skip protection and no FF/RW in mp3 files
Summary: I only tested this unit for a few minutes along side my rio volt sp-250 and a sony unit. I was very suprised that neither this nor the other panasonic unit I tested could do FF/RW in an mp3. I have an OLD Koss unit that can do that. Try and listen to a 40 min live recording or a book without FF/RW and you'll understand why its a deal breaker specially when its fairly common feature. Also the only reason to upgrade my rio volt is to get better battery length or better skip protection. This unit is about as bad at jog proof as my fairly sensitive rio but with none of the cool use features. My guess is no running, carefull walking and some interuptions when used in a car. In comparison I shook the snot out of the sony without any effect. That will probably be the one I go with although I recently tried a midgrade phillips that could take a pretty good shaking also.
