Stanton C.304 good but not good enough
Strengths: Sound FX, Scratch pad, sample cue points
Weaknesses: Auto BPM counter is always incorrect, Pitch blender is extra sensitive and succesive tapping of +/- button changes pitch speed
Summary: Generally quite a nice looking unit, especially with the blue LED lights which look great in a dark room. My first unit didn't work at all, I had it replaced and read all 6 pages in the user manual. The features are great, sampler sequence is a nice feature and the fact that you can alter the time/ratio/beat sync of the FX is good, but annoyed with innacurate readings from the auto bpm counter which seems to jam on a reading if you manually enter it by tapping. The pitch slider is typically Stanton and very sensitive, but I was annoyed with the fact that tapping the +/- buttons a few times actually altered the pitch speed on the digital display from what it was initially. I found the scratch pad pretty good but it was difficult to return to the where you started the scratch. Overall its not too bad for the price, but if I were to purchase again I would go the American audio CDI-500 or pay the extra cash and get a Denon 3000/5000
