Strengths: large storage capacity
Weaknesses: Firewire does not work.
Summary:

I bought a 80G firewire/usb2 drive late last year. When used with firewire it would freeze up my computer EVERY time I tried to move a file and it crashed my computer numerous times. I would turn the drive off then on in hopes it would work again. Very frustrating. It works fine with usb1 but that is not what I payed for. I have yet to hear back from many inquiries to there customer service dept. Stay away from this company. Other companies with better reputations have more reliable and less expensive product to choose from.

Strengths: Nice looking, good directions, better than a cheapie enclosure I bought on ebay
Weaknesses: Only could get it to work with firewire, not usb 2.0 under Windows XP, drive cooling mechanism could be better
Summary: This unit is attractive and fairly cheap (around 60 bucks from buy.com) compared to some others. It installed easy and Windows XP did recognize it right away after reboot with firewire. Pretty darn fast file transfers. However USB 2.0 was disappointing - system didn't recognize it.

Gets pretty hot since made of plastic not aluminum and no fan. But for getting a backup and storing off site (my purpose) it is 'satisfactory'.
