Fun but less so than the original
Strengths: Good enemy AI; plenty of new scary moments
Weaknesses: Weird gameplay indicates it was written for consoles and then ported to the PC; overall less fun experience than the original; dated graphics.
Summary: I thoroughly enjoyed the original F.E.A.R., as well as the subsequent Perseus Mandate. Extraction Point wasn't as good, and neither is this one. It's still a fun time, and it answers a lot of questions about the whole Alma thing, but it's overall less fun to play than those older F.E.A.R. games. Its dated graphics and weirdly clunky gameplay are things I'm beginning to recognize in titles written for consoles, and then ported to PCs as an afterthought. Those aspects don't ruin it altogether, but when you play it, you'll see what I mean - oddly cludgy and not precise/smooth. It just doesn't really take advantage of a PC's tremendous power. So while I can recommend it to F.E.A.R. fans, I won't be playing through it a second time.
