Strengths: HDMI interface, ease of connecting, upscales VCR output over HDMI
Weaknesses: Manual, remote
Summary: Great choice if you're looking for a combo player. The DVD record feature is on a par with other recorders. What sets this one apart from the rest is that both the VCR and DVD are upscaled over the HDMI interface. Just one cable to connect this to your receiver! Upscaling is nice -- not at the quality of what an Oppo can do, but nice.

Manual is not well written, but usable. The remote is also not the best out there.

Great choice if you want to have a combo player to save space, and don't want to deal with all the problems of using RCA cables. Got it at Sams Club for a great price.
