Strengths: Works perfectly. Makes an old printer usable with new computer motherboards. Self Installation

Summary: I recently replaced my wife's aging Dell Precision workstation with a very quiet machine from Cool Tech PC www.cooltechpc.com/... using an Antec case. Cool Tech installed an Asus P5E-VM HDMI motherboard. The motherboard does not have a parallel printer port, so i needed a cable to connect an old HP 4000 laser jet to a USB port on the computer.
I attached the parallel port end of the cable to printer and plugged the USB end into the computer. I turned on both devices, Windows Vista Ultimate detected the printer, and installed a driver without the use of the included installation CD.
The printer works perfectly. It could not have been easier.
