Panasonic VIERA TC-P42S1 42" Plasma TV

awesome panasonic plasma at a geat price

Strengths: picture specially high def, blu-ray movies, black levels!

Weaknesses: only one i can think of is the remote

Summary: i have ben waiting for a nice plasma to come out that had black levels close to my crt rear projection and have a geat overall picture as well. i did a lot of research on this tv (including going to a local retail store and viewing it). when i saw the black levels and the picture (even though the feed was not that great) i knew that i had found the plasma i wanted the panasonic TC-P42S1. after purchasing i set the settings to my liking and watched a few blu-rays, some hdtv and played some ps3 and the picture is awesome. the black levels like i said are great ( not pioneer great ,but pretty darn good and for a lot less $$) the only negative i have found is the remote, who ever designed this should not be allowed to do so in the future as the keys at the top for the menu are way to close to the viera link/viewer keys and i hit them all the time. if you are looking for a geat plasma with great picture and black levels and can't afford a pioneer plasma this is it!

I Love This Plasma Set!

Strengths: Great picture, ease of set up and use, Viera Link

Weaknesses: None

Summary: I finally traded in my Sony 40" direct view HDTV that I purchased in 2001. I did a lot of research before purchasing this Panasonic plasma. I was unsure whether plasma or LCD would be better for the viewing conditions in my home, but after seeing the Panasonic at the store, I knew what I wanted. I live in a high rise condo, and my den isn't that large, so I purchased the 42" version of this plasma set....I can only imagine the quality the larger sets can deliver! When coupled with a Panasonic Blu-Ray player and a good surround system, you will think you're at your local multiplex watching a movie....I am not kidding! And at this price point, you'd be foolish to spend any more for such quality!

Fantastic television across the board!

Strengths: Picture clarity/color, refresh rate, and anti-glare screen.

Weaknesses: Nothing yet.

Summary: After researching televisions for over two months (and even returning one television during that time), I was sold on the 1080p, 42" Panasonic Viera when I saw it at a local eletronics retailer.

The clarity is amazing, the colors are stunning, and the 600Hz refresh rate is a must have for the sports/action movie enthusiast. Even in a well lit room, the anti-glare screen eliminates nearly all glare.

Overall, I have absolutely no regrets about this purchase. This TV will definitely spoil you! And with a price tag under a grand it's an unbelievable deal!

Great TV

Strengths: Excellent product for the price! Good picture, solid TV! For the money hands down its the best TV.

Weaknesses: Skin tones might look a little off. Only 3 HDMI inputs

Summary: Quite honestly i looked around for this TV since it is the new Panasonic technology. Let me tell you I could not be any happier. Do not hesitate to buy the TV.
