Strengths: Does what its supposed to do. No conflicts, no hangups, no freezes.
Weaknesses: Haven't found any.
Summary: I bought this card in mid-June for $203 from a vendor in NJ. I haven't seen this price since. Got the full retail version with everything. Installed on a chaintech springdale MB. Pentium4 2.6, 512mb of Geil ultra platinum pc3500. Don't plan to overclock. This card has been working great for 2 months. Considering that there is no real performance diff betweeen this and a 9700 pro, or at least not $80 or $90 worth, I feel that I got the deal of a lifetime. I was wary of getting the Powercolor brand but before I made the purchase I saw a review of 9700 pros made by ATI, Sapphire and Powercolor that showed no real differences in performance at stock speeds. There were differences when overclocking but nothing huge. I don't get all caught up in this benchmark stuff except to see if my numbers fall within an acceptable range based on what I see reported on review sites.

Strengths: This card I have seen to work in other computers very nicely. You can't ask for anything more than this but a 9800, but that is some $$ to be spending on a video card. To expensive for my taste.
Weaknesses: The weakness in these cards is from Ati selling their cards to other top pc companys like dell, Hp, etc. Where I have found out that Dell atleast makes their own drivers for these cards.which means..
Summary: if you have in another pc, good luck. Mine crashes alot, no support from dell, with no dell pc.What a crock .K3NN3D1G174L, from OH please email me at TTMK27@aol.com

Strengths: Runs all my games on hign quality and 1600x1200 resoltion and even DOOM 3 ALPHA runs fine
Weaknesses: None until 2004-2005 games comes out!
Summary: 2003-07-05 18:43:06 Man I have AMD 2100+,512 MB DDR PC 2100 and ECS 7LVMM 4X AGP motherboard and that card. I downloaded the unoptimised DOOM 3 ALPHA and it got from 27-62 fps on high quality, shadows and 1024x768 resoltion with 4X AA and 16 X AF. I seriosly recommend this card because if you want to run games with AA and AF ebabled even in such upcoming games like DOOM 3 buy this card, it is not too expensive You won't be dissaponted!!

Strengths: Outstanding Videocard. Works great with the ATI Catalyst 3.5 series and above drivers. Check out the easy to use ATI driver link at the bottom. Plays all my games with ease.
Weaknesses: None. The videocard works. It does everything I need. What more can you say?
Summary: 2003-07-15 14:07:58 It's been years since I owned an ATI-powered Videocard. I noticed the original Radeon series, but I also noticed their Driver problems. Finally, with the Catalyst version 3.5 (and up) drivers, ATI cards work just as well, if not better than, their NVIDIA counterparts. Get your Drivers from ATI directly regardless of who made your Videocard! (ONLY EXCEPTION: Unless the Videocard came with a Dell, HP, or similar Big PC Manufacturer. The big PC makers contract out customized CARDS and special DRIVERS for their Videocards that come with their PCs.) For the rest of us, ATI drivers are the best! mirror.ati.com/support...

Strengths: Runs all my games well, it's hard to tell the difference between my 9700 and my 9700pro.
Weaknesses: cannot overclock this one. needs pro bios
Summary: I wish it would of came "unlocked" then I wouldn't have to chase around looking for and flashing a new bios....whew!, nevertheless a great card and I would certainly recommend it.

Strengths: Easily overclocks to 9700pro specs. Very stable.
Weaknesses: None so far except
Summary: Some people have problems with these boards. As a certified PC tech that actually gets paid for working on them I suspect they may have system compatability problems which your average OC'er may not be able to recognize. Who knows? Maybe I just got lucky. I bought it because of the $30 rebate and replaced an MSI TI4200-64 which is a damn fine card. No regrets except guilt from switching to ATI. Unfortunately no nVIDIA based card can compete with this 9700 for around $200. Sorry nVIDIA. I am running an Abit NF7,XP 2400,and Crucial 512 PC2100. Perfect install with no problems. Put it through the paces and still no problems. Considering I paid $140 for my TI4200 a year ago I think I got a good deal on a killer video card.

Strengths: It's the cheapest Radeon 9700 available
Weaknesses: Read on...
Summary: OK i'm just going to get straight to it: 1) With EVERY one of these cards you have to press reset right after you turn your computer on in order for the card to send display data to your monitor. 2) EVERY one of these cards comes unlocked and overclocked to the pro version speed. The problem? If you overclock you'll know what happens when you overclock _WAY_ too far. Basically your screen will look like plaid golf pants. 3) SOME GAMES CAUSE THE VIDEO CARD TO LOCK UP!! This ALWAYS happens to me within 10 minutes of playing certain games such as Wolfenstein - Enemy Territory or Splinter Cell. Bottom line: Don't buy this PowerCRAP card, you'll get screwed. By the way, I went to the Power Color website and guess what? They've only been in business since 1999!
