Strengths: easy to set up, easy to use, great picture quality, immersive sound, can play just about anything, bluetooth connectivity, wireless subwoofer. Remote control works with many current Samsung TVs.
Weaknesses: DVD player isn't Blu-ray
Summary: We got this all-in-one home theater from an Ebay store to compliment our 52" Samsung ToC LCD TV. We were tired of running wires and setting up multiple speakers to get the 5.1 surround sound effect and decided to go with this sleek, all-in-one home theater unit. The set up was simple and no more wires hanging off the wall or multiple speakers placement to deal with. The picture quality from DVDs as well as Divx files is impressive. But how does it sound? The sound coming from the two speakers hidden inside the "soundbar" is clear and "room-filling". When using the virtual surround mode, it does simulates the 5.1 surround effect ALMOST as good as our previous 6 speakers home theater system. The subwoofer automatically detects and connect to the main unit wirelessly when you turn on the unit and gives a tight, well-defined low frequency base. But the base can be a little overwhelming at default setting so we turned down the output a bit. We are impressed at both the picture and the sound quality of this unit. Samsung also designed this unit to take on anything that you want to use it for. There are multiple input ports that includes:
1 HDMI out
1 composite video out and 1 component video out
1 pair stereo RCA audio in
1 optical audio in
1 3.5-mm stereo audio in
1 USB port
In addition, there's also bluetooth 2.0 connection so you can connect your bluetooth capable MP3 players to this unit and play it. All in all, this is the a great all-in-one home theater that looks great, easy to use, well-rounded and offers great sound and picture quality to compliment your TV.
