Strengths: The AUX input on the head unit is great for easily connecting your iPod for clear sound!!
Weaknesses: The blue LED hue on the unit is hard to see in bright sunlight. Overall construction feels cheap, but the unit does its job!
Summary: You can't beat the price and with the $5 bonus review rebate just makes it all the better! I got mine at Cruthfield with free shipping and no tax. This unit replaced a busted Kenwood and installation was a snap with the detailed instructions you get from Cruthfield for your specific vehicle.

Strengths: Incredibly low Price, very convenient front AUX input and the volume button, and good sound stage
Weaknesses: The seek buttons has a learning curve. Maybe I just like the jobdial design from Sony. Sometimes you may miss the seek buttons while driving.
Summary: 2005-08-04 23:32:08 I've been seeking for a headunit with some basic functions and an AUX input. This unit meets with all I need and delivers very good sound stage. The functions are good enough for daily use except you wanna build a premier sound system in your car. The sound stage is superior to my old SONY cdx2180. When I hooked up this unit and turned on the radio, oh, man, the bass punched my heart! You cannot believe it can achieve such a powerful bass even if its RMS power is only specified as 22watts/channel. If you pursuit the balance of the sound, not just the super low bass as some "bassheads" enjoys, this player does the right job.

The most attractive point besides the price, is the front AUX input. That means you can hook up your mp3 player, ipod, PDA and any other portable audio player, just simply by connecting the two 3.5mm jackets. I have tried a couple of FM transmitters, but I always got dissappointed. The highs and lows were totally lost. But with the AUX input, those details can be completely reserved.

I also like the volume button, instead of two simple "+" and "-" ones. While driving, you can always find the right position of the volume control so easily.

PS: I'd like to give crutchfiled's service a two-thumb-up, friendly and considerable.

Strengths: Good sound. Good power. Pretty basic in operation and features. Love the MP3 player front input plug.
Weaknesses: Doesn't play MP3's from CD.
Summary: 2005-08-24 20:33:21 For anyone looking for a simple CD player for their car, and not much else, this Aiwa is for you. It's easy to install, easy to operate, and sounds good, too. The auxillary input plug on the front is a great feature. I don't know why more companies don't do something like that. The blue illumination is cool, too.
