Strengths: Well it is big... ^^ and the pictures are just great

Weaknesses: just need to fix the text a bit since for some reason this lcd uses cleartype so u have to set that up.

I'm a deal finder and I got this 18' LCD for 404.5 ...

Strengths: CRISP, BIG(ger), CHEAP

Weaknesses: ...If all LCD's were made with metal and a coat of paint...Took me 30mins to figure out how to make text sharp

Summary: I'm a deal finder and I got this 18' LCD for 404.55 direct from dell. They had 150 bux off and i had an extra 15% coupon from small biz email subscription. Best 400 bux I ever spent...I had to tweak it a little when i got it. It confused the crap out of me. When i finally figured out that I messed up in changing the resolution to 1280x940 instead of 1024, I love it...i put phase on max and adjusted the sync clock and the position and everything was crisp and clear. there were no artifacts...Antialiasing is pretty good...great upgrade from my 17' crt which was a bit blurry...If you buy it and it is not clear (analog), you have to tweak everything(slowly) and bump the res to 1280...when ur done...be amazed...

Excellent basic monitor.

Strengths: Plain, non-gaudy appearance. High quality display. I have never seen one with a dead pixel, out of the dozen or so I've used.

Weaknesses: Could have better contrast; not a huge issue but newer displays look a little better.

Summary: This is an excellent display for someone who makes basic use of their computer, surfing, word processing, whatever. It's not amazing for games (a little slow) and not really large enough for programming or graphics unless you get two. I use it on my home machine and it's great. I have an Ultrasharp 2400W at the office that's much better in terms of graphics/programming because of the larger surface area.

Strengths: Large enough, bright, great resolution, somewhat inexpensive. Good overall size and picture.

Weaknesses: 350:1 Contrast Ratio. There are better LCD's for just slightly more money.

Summary: I am completely satisfied with my purchase. If I was going to do it over again I would buy a larger LCD. I got the monitor at a great price directly from Dell. Dell often puts the 1800FP on sale and offers additional coupons. The monitor has both DVI and VGA plugs which makes it usable for everyone with a computer. Great overall monitor.
