Strengths: Reliability, clear crisp image.
Weaknesses: None
Summary: 2005-08-15 17:23:28 I have had my 815C for more than a year and a half and have had no problems whatever. At the time I bought it on e-Bay I paid almost $400.00 with shipping and now this model can be purchased for $200.00 plus shipping. It has no speakers but I have external ones. I am thinking of getting a 19", as they have really come down in price. Previously I had a KDS 17" and had to replace the original unit twice before giving up on it. I would recommend Microtek to anyone. Arthur

Strengths: Great price, Eye strain is reduced 100X over, picture looks great, doesn't get hot, space saver
Weaknesses: Nothing
Summary: Looking at LCD monitor prices recently I saw that they have become much more affordable than in years past. When I saw the 815C I was thrilled to find a 18" LCD for under $300. I remember when I was contemplating getting a 15" LCD a few years ago that $300 was the standard price for one. I replaced my 17" CRT monitor with this one. The 815C has a 18" viewable screen, compared to my 15.9" viewable of my CRT. The actual monitor never gets hot which is nice from my old CRT where you could toast bread on the side of it after a few hours. I wear glasses occassionaly and have found that eye strain with this monitor is considerably less than with my old one. I can sit at the monitor for hours and not have any problems with having to rub my eyes, etc. This combined with the 1/4th of the amount of space required makes it a winning combination.
