Strengths: great signal outside of city, fm quality, cord wraps around when not in use, easy on-off button
Weaknesses: batteries, only four fm bands to choose from, poor in cities with fm near the four band range
Summary: I just got this in order to use my ipod in my car. In and around Philadelphia, which has a station in one of the four bands, the quality is poor (or no signal sometimes). However, once i'm out of the city it works great in almost any other area (other small cities, small towns, rural areas, etc.). Most of my driving is not in big cities (where i would probably listen to fm radio anyway)...this is good for smaller areas with fewer radio stations.

Strengths: Portable design, easy to operate
Weaknesses: Only 4 channels available
Summary: I liked it a lot. I used it in my car with my MP3 player and it works wonderful. Although sometimes the channels are getting busy and you have to switch the setting, it is pretty easy to operate. It uses two AAA batteries.

Strengths: Cheap, Small enough to put in car console, Great Sound
Weaknesses: Only 4 FM Stations. If you are in an area that has a station trasmitting on one of the 4 preset stations it performs poorly.
Summary: For the price you can't beat it. Some complain about it being battery powered. I have more than 40 hours on the first set of batteries and still going strong. If you are in an area that has a local station transmitting on one of the four preset frequencies, I would not recommend it. Go to your car, tune to 88.1, 88.3, 88.5 and 88.7 If you have a local station on all the four preset frequencies, don't buy this one, get TuneCast II. The signal strength was very good. I was in back of SUV and still had great sound quality being transmitted. Only when I was on an active station did I have problem with audio quality. It is very easy to use. Just plug it in, turn it on.

TuneCast Mobile FM Transmitter
Strengths: Long battery life (I used the battereis that came with the set for more than 20 hours and it still had lots of juice left), easy to use and set up, small in size.
Weaknesses: static noise, clear only when in rural areas, only 4 frequencies
Summary: Good for rural areas or areas where no frequencies in the 4 preset frequency range, in cities too much static. Battery life is good, easy to set up and use.

Strengths: portable, easy to use, good quality and battery life.
Weaknesses: only 4 frequencies avaliable.
Summary: This is a must-have to play your MP3 player or other music player in your auto. The auto FM player receives signals pretty good and the music quality is good. The only drawback is it only has four frequencies. When it is interfered with other FM stations, the sound quality will decrease, but you can always change to another frequency. Or you can get another transmitter with more frequencies.

Strengths: Simple to use, very portable
Weaknesses: Few frequentcy choices, only powered by battery
Summary: Overall, compared to other products in this category, it's a very good buy. Even in a large radio market (Dallas), have no trouble finding an acceptable station. Can achieve signal distance of 25 feet, but seems very reliable at the 10 foot range, as promised. Basically, it does what it says it will do.

Strengths: strong fm signal, no audio distortion, compact package
Weaknesses: no option for external power adapter
Summary: Tried this on home stereo, with a strong station on 88.1 MHz and the unit worked perfectly up to a distance of about 10 feet with no obstructions. Tried it in two vehicles in the front seat, with mp3 player on low volume and reception/ playback on fm radio was excellent, no distortion, even with an fm station on that frequency. Unit operates on four fm frequencies; 88.1-88.7. Will be interesting to see if there is any signal degradation as batteries (2 AAA) wear down. ON/OFF round switch (good feel to it) and power on led indicator. Uses 1/8" plug to connect to headphone jack on mp3 player or other audio device. At $25, very good buy.

SAVE YOUR MONEY--DON'T BUY THIS!!!
How do yo ...
Strengths: None
Weaknesses: Very poor audio quality. Very short audio cord.
Summary: SAVE YOUR MONEY--DON'T BUY THIS!!!
How do you make a CD sound like a record? Step 1--Encode CD as an MP3. Step 2--Play MP3 through this device. You get hiss, popping and clicking--all reminders of those days of RECORDS. Forget even thinking about buying this if you have a radio station in your area on ANY of the frequencies 88.1, 88.3, 88.5, or 88.7.
This device is even worse with high frequency sounds. The high-hat cymbals on the theme from "Shaft" is an indescribable assault on the auditory senses.
Belkin should stick to selling overprices CAT-5 cables and surge protectors...

Strengths: size, color, shape, quality and easy to use
Weaknesses: not rechargeable battery, no option for a cigarette car adapter
Summary: Excellent so far! Wish it had a car adapter option and/ or rechargeable battery. Otherwise it is a cool product, easy to use. I also like the color and it's size.

TuneCast Mobile FM Transmitter - Wireless FM Transmitter for iPod, PDA, MP3, CD or Cassette Player - Gray
Strengths: Good signal for the price
Weaknesses: Have to use batteries. Doesn't work off mp3 player itself.
Summary: This product is a good because it serves multiple functionalities. Signal works great on my FM dial. If your looking for a cheaper resort for an iTrip it is definately comparable to iTrip.

Strengths: Amazing little invention. Allows you to listen to your mp3 players (and other things) without having a ton of wires. This is especially convenient in a car.
Weaknesses: sometimes difficult to find a clear (or in this case a frequency that isn't already being used) radio station.
Summary: I definitely think this is better than a cassette adapter device because most cars now-a-days don't have a tape player. I've had it for a week and I'm starting to find which frequencies get the best reception. I bet this would work best on a road trip when you're in the middle of nowhere and have more 'open' frequencies to choose from. It's a good purchase.

Strengths: Transmits a solid signal to FM radio frequencies that allows me to listen to electronic media in places that I previosly could not.
Weaknesses: Does not produce the quality of sound that comes from a CD
Summary: This nifty little device has allowed to me to listen to my MP3 player at my grandma's on an old manual radio when otherwise I would have been resigned to listening to TOP 40 songs. The quality of sound is good while not excellent but it may come through better on certain devices than other devices. For instance, my car stereo is a better system so obviously the sound is better through this system than on the manual radio. I recommend this device for the mere convenience because it outweighs the tradoff of poorer sound.

Doesn't work in my house or in my car
Strengths: none
Weaknesses: only four choices for stations. short cord. battery operated.
Summary: What a waste. Doesn't work in my house or in my car.
It can't grab a station out of the four choices and when it does, it has total static. Don't buy it.

Belkin Tunecast
Strengths: none
Weaknesses: Completely non-functional. Unable to get anything but the weakest signal
Summary: This came with the iPod at no cost after rebate and it isn't even worth the 41 cent stamp. I was unable to get any reception at all except for a very weak signal on one radio. I've had much better luck with the iTrip; at least with that device you can choose any station you want and it doesn't require a separate battery.

Belkin Tunecast FM Transmitter easy to use but hard to Love
Strengths: Ease of Use, Long Battery Life, Portable
Weaknesses: Limited Channel Selection, Continuous Static Interference
Summary: I liked the idea of listening to the songs from my ipod on my radio while I drive. However initially the transmitter was a blessing, it was easy to use, just select a station and plug in car electronic section. However, not long after, the transmitter showed its weaknesses such as interference with other radio stations and static quality similar to listening to a tape(remember those). Anyway I like the transmitter but it does not have great sound quality.
