Strengths: Has a number of speaker options, high and low pass filters, low distortion at 800 watts bridged total power (460 RMS), and has an integral cooling fan.
Weaknesses: Needs a little better than a one foot square area with about 3 inches or so height for mounting.
Summary: 2004-08-06 09:24:21 A powerful and sturdy unit that will require a healthy power supply, this unit pulls an average of 43 amps from the battery. Use it with the engine running as it will discharge the battery quickly. Be sure to use the proper sized wiring and fuses at the battery to prevent shorts and burning wiring. You may need a stiffening cap. of .5 to 1 Farad if it dims your lights with the engine running.

This unit has two automotive 30 amp fuses and protection circuitry in the event of a problem. It also has a triangular blue power LED and a nice sandblast and black finish along with a finished machined look.

Connections are:

(1) speaker level L&R input

(2) L&R RCA line inputs

(2) L&R RCA line outputs

(4) speaker output terminals

(1) Batt. terminal

(1) ground terminal

(1) power control terminal

Switches are:

(1) three position High pass/ Off / Low pass filter switch

(1) variable sensitivity switch

(1) variable Low Pass Frequency switch (50 - 200 Hz)

(1) 12 Db Bass Boost On/Off

(1) stereo/mono switch

I used it bridged with a 12" sub but it can be used with stereo midrange or subs and combinations of both. The sound level and quality is awesome and can easily be appreciated.

4 Ohms stable in Bridged mode it is 2 Ohm stable in all other modes and includes Kenwood's patented Tri-Mode circuitry for more specialized applications.

If you were looking for that BAD BOY - KILLER AMP you just found an inexpensive and reliable one. Just pair it with the proper wiring and matched speakers and everyone will know it.

Kenwood suggests to mount this amp flat in an area with good unrestricted airflow away from the sun and heated air, and you had better tighten and deaden any loose panels in your vehicle as it's for sure they will vibrate apart using it.

After hearing it, I figure I stole it from CarDomain.com at the $138.90 total I gave them using their 105% price guarantee discount.
