Strengths: Value (Performance/dollar) Nice smooth clean image even when up close shooting a large image. Good level of parameter contol for calibration. good basic connectivity, really quiet, runs cool,A+
Weaknesses: Not hdcp compatible on the DTI interface.
Summary: I think this unit is extremely well fitted to the probable market at it's price-point. With the relatively short-throw lens, it'll throw a nice BIG picture in a pretty small room. That image will be smooth and clean. I haven't hooked up my OTA DTV receiver yet but I expect it to be a great match for this PJ by feeding the 1080i signal to this PJ's 1/4 HD resoloution optical path. The scaling looks nice already on the STD TV, interlaced S-video DVD and VHS signals I have been feeding it and I bet it's gonna look super with a Hi-def DTV signal. I think you'd be hard-pressed to find a better entry-level HT Front-projector.

Strengths: Ease of operation, silent, absolutely no noise. Cant say enough good about this unit.
Weaknesses: none
Summary: I have watched over 300 hours on this unit and my wife and I enjoy it tremendously. We project an image to about 9 feet wide and 5 to 5 1/2 feet high. I bought a nice set of axiom speakers out of canada for 1500 dollars and they are really nice also. With my Harman Kardan 525 avr to power the speakers its awsome. I hooked up my cable tv so it runs through my pioneer elite dvd recorder and I watch sports on about 120 inch diagonal. Super bowl will be here no doubt. You cant go wrong with this Panasonic Projector.

Strengths: Quiet operation, good video quality, SD card slot, long lamp life (5000hr) at low setting. Low setting is still good enough.
Weaknesses: DVI input is not HDCP compatible, computer display resolution is not very sharp
Summary: This is a very nice home theater projector. Its 16:9 wide screen format is very good for watching widescreen movies. It is a very quiet projector, I can't notice any fan noise at all. The screen resolution is very good. It also has a few weak points though. 1. Its DVI input is not HDCP compatible, so you can't hook it up with HDCP compliant DVD player. It may not a big deal since the video quality seems good enough for me. 2. poor computer projection. Computer projection through RGB input (haven't tried DVI input) is dull. But this is not a big issue for me either because I use it for DVD movie projection only.

In summary, it is a very nice movie projector at a reasonable price. I highly recommend it for a home theater system.
