Strengths: Cheap, Light, Small
Weaknesses: Poor sound, poor construction. Stops playing when the headphone plug moves a bit.
Summary: Returned it the 2nd day.

Some buttons combine 2 functions => trouble using them.

Malfunctioned almost immediately

Used up battery faster than advertised.

I purchased at CompUSA Miami for 29.99 (after rebate), and when I returned it, CompUSA took it back w/o asking any questions (which they normally do) or applying the 15% re-stocking fee (which is their policy). HMMM. I must not have been the one returning one that week.

Strengths: Small, light weight, low cost
Weaknesses: High battery consumption, limited controls
Summary: I paid less than 50 bucks for this as I wanted something for the gym that I wouldn't be broken up about if something happened to it. Replaced the clunky lanyard/earphone combination with my own lanyard and the Sony earbuds that I already had and it sounds great. My only complaint is the controls and short battery life. I have 2 rechargable batteries that I alternate...will usually play around 2 hours. Controls allow you to skip forward and backward and control the volume, but that is it. It doesn't play the music in the order that is recorded, and there isn't any way to control the playback order...but for less than 50 bucks, I can't complain.

Strengths: Highly portable, very easy to use, low value
Weaknesses: Isn't water proof ;)
Summary: This product would be perfect if it had a Li-ion rechargeable battery included, which is recharged when synchronizing :), built in aluminium or another light material resistant to high impacts. Of course, this would be a different product with a different price!. :D

Strengths: Small. Cheap
Weaknesses: Cheap. REALLY CHEAP construction. Sounds terrible. The bass boost sucks.
Summary: First I thought this player is cool--being a USB disk and all that. Plus it was cheap. IT IS cheap. The construction resembles that of a tic-tac box. I don't think it'd last long if I have kept it. I requested a refund immediately, even though I lost shipping and a 15% restocking fee.

The sound is also horrible, even if I used a headphone amp. The bass boost introduced so much distortion... it was hard to tell whether it was a bass boost or a feature that adds "echo" to your music. It's that bad. The sound is ok if bass boost is turned off.

Unless you can buy this at $15-$20, I wouldn't even consider it.

Strengths: no cables
Weaknesses: NA
Summary: I am going to purchase this item for the sheer purpose that there are no cables to lose. I have a Samsung YP-NEU. Lose the cable and now the company wants to charge $35.00 for a new one. the device only cost $49.
