Strengths: Price, Bulb Replacement Price, Bright, Component to HD15 cable included, Inputs (VGA/S-video/composite/HDMI/USB, component), Startup/Shutdown time (25s/4s), Lightweight, Remote, Dynamic Iris, 2yr war
Weaknesses: Limited Optical Zoom, Black levels can be improved, no lens shift
Summary: I upgraded to the HC700 from an Epson S3+. Great improvement with all the original benefits. Even without a 720p source the picture looks great. I mostly watch 720p sources from my xbox360 component output - games, netflix, video. I also have a Wii, DVD, and computer hooked to the HC700. All look great even in a bright room. I purchased Epson based on the experience I had with the S3+ with over 3 yrs of trouble free use. I watch in a darkened room and found black levels can be improved, but more than acceptable for this price. My setup: Viewing Distance: 12ft Screen Size: 9.5 ft DIA Mount: Ceiling Room: Basement with little ambient light on "Low Brightness" Screen: Painted wall
