Strengths: Compact, stylish, 28mm wide angle, beautiful color rendition, very sharp at mid-zoom stopped down, great macro range, long battery life, very responsive controls, and generally fun to use
Weaknesses: None so far
Summary: I love my s60. I have been on a couple of vacations and the quality of the pictures are just great . . the 5 Megs permits cropping if required and still get a high quailty shot.

Strengths: beautiful pictures. wide angle lense. full manual controls price. solid construction.
Weaknesses: bulky
Summary: this is one of the few compact digital cameras with a wide angle lense. it is the main reason that I got it. the camera takes beautiful pictures both indoors and outdoors. it also comes with full manual controls. the full metal construction is very solid. the only complaint I have is that it is a bit too bulky. this makes carrying it around not so convenient. the newer generation of the S series (the S80) is a lot smaller, but also cost quite a bit more.

Strengths: User friendly. Make sharp pictures with great color sauration. Lots of functions. and wild angle
Weaknesses: A little bulk, Auto focus sometimes doesn't work well
Summary: 2005-10-18 15:26:54 I'm very happy with this camera. It's 1/3 larger than my compact S500, but it has lots of functions that really work well. The quality of the pictures impressed me the most, especially for night and dark place. Oh my god, I've never got such great pictures at night before. Another reason I got this camera is because it has wild angle. It will be handy on vacations!
There's one thing I want to point out, the camera doesn't has an On/off button. Maybe it does has one, but I have not found it yet. It took a starter like me a while to figure out how to turn it on. :(.

Strengths: wide angle, picture color, case
Weaknesses: weight and small LCD (1.8)
Summary: I liked the camera with the wide angle lens (from 28mm ~ 100mm), which is good for scenic picture shot.
The camera also provides some auto mode such as P/A/S/M. So it allows me to do manual exposure just like DSLR does. In a way, this is convenient to me because most of time I will use this camera as Point and Shot camera but there are times I do want to manual set up the exposure like what I always do with DSLR.
To some people, the camera may be too heavy and too big. Personally, the weight is good for me to hold still the camera like holding a DSLR while I am shooting. If you are looking for a light weight portable camera, Canon S60 is not your choice. But if you want more manual control and take many scenic pictures, S60 is a very good.

Strengths: Sharp pictures quality. Easy to use. very good manual features.
Weaknesses: Slow start-up process, no option to date stamp pictures, use CF card
Summary: I have gotten this s60 for 2 weeks. I wanna say it is a good camera overall. Its featured wide angle lens and manual controls functions in a pocketable camera made me purchase it, which did not disappoint me. It works great. The qualities of pictures are quite good, and you can make use of lots of scene settings and manual options. However I think it does have some drawback here: bulky, slow start-up process, no option to date stamp pictures, uses CF card. So overall I will rate it at 4/5.
