2 Star ReviewPresto Hot air popper
Strengths: NA
Weaknesses: design flaw leaves many unpopped
Summary: I haven't bought one of these in 20 years, but unless they've changed the poor design that permits the hot air to blow through the central screen-grid, this popper will not get the popcorn popped nor emitted as well as the old Proctor-silex Popcorn Pumper, which circulated hot air in through side vents in a round metal holding tank, causing the kernals to swirl around in a circular motion instead of to rest right on the hot screen in the Presto model, which burned them because they couldn't escape out the shoot fast enough unless the unit was tipped forward.

Strengths: Works very well, you can control the amount of salt, butter you are adding
Weaknesses: None
Summary: I decided to get this old school pop corn popper in order to control the amount of butter and salt that goes into our popcorn. I like the way popcorn taste using this method rather than the bags. Not mention the money saved using this item over bags. Very pleased.

Strengths: Pops quickly without excess oil and fat. No cleaning.
Weaknesses: got to find a way to infuse the popcorn with seasonings
Summary: My goal was to buy a popcorn machine that I can control the amount of oil and salt used while not being a chore to clean. The Presto 04820 acomplishes almost all my goals. I don't really like microwave popcorn because it is usually to salty and oily. I bought another popcorn maker that made pretty good popcorn, I pop my popcorn with a little oil and dry seasonings, rosemary or old bay, but it was a chore to clean.

I just need a way to infuse my seasoning into the melted smart balance or some other medium.

Highly recommended.

Strengths: Does what's supposed to
Weaknesses: none that I know of
Summary: Ah, the time tested Presto Poplite. Put kernels in, turn on, get popcorn. It's that easy. It's cheap, it's healthier than microwave popcorn, and it tastes great. Not sure what else You could want.
