Strengths: Small, lightweight, display with backlight, easy to use, with more great features compared to other devices that just plays mp3s. You can use it right out of the box - or blister pack if you will.:)
Weaknesses: Wish it had a way to power using a cigarette lighter adapter to use with an fm transmitter, otherwise, AA battery works great!
Summary: I originally had my mind set on the 1gb Sandisk mp3 player and found this on a search on Pricegrabber and has been monitoring the price drop ever since! At $147 with no tax and shipping, it was the best bottomline value. The WOW and SRS gives it a crisp, clear and pretty loud sound! Even the FM, voice and line encoding is pretty good! And only powered by one AA battery that lasts some 40 hours was amazing (had it 5 days and I just now changed the battery)! The drag and drop feature is another great feature. Although it doesn't have an armband for jogging, maybe later on someone out there will have a great aftermarket sleeve that integrates an armband. And if they add more gigs to this little gizmo, I'll be watching out for it's next iteration! Highly recommended

Strengths: Micro sized, amazing sound quality with WOW 3D sound, 1 gig flash memory, 42 hour battery life - longest I've heard of, clear FM radio, voice/Radio recording and encoding, very sturdy and well made
Weaknesses: Value - Expensive per gig of space vs. harddrive based players.
Summary: Having tried other flash players such as Sandisk and other Samsung Yepp players as well as both read reviews of and listened to harddrive based players like the IPOD, I know that this model (MT6Z) is the best Mp3 player on the market right now.

I was looking for a small mp3 player that fits compactly into the coin pocket of my jeans or is virtually unnoticeable while running, and this fits the bill nearly perfectly. Earlier models of the Yepp line have smaller memory capacities and shorter battery life (with the same great sound quality), but this model has both enough space for 8-10 albums at one time (it's plenty!), and enough battery space to listen to them (42 hours!).

Thus, having tried the others and finding them either poorly built (the Sandisk), or too big for an all-purpose player such as for the gym, I have decided that the Samsung MT6Z is the ultimate mp3 player to date and thus I highly recommend you look past its value and purchase it!

Strengths: easy to use, very light weight, reasonable price, a plenty of storage(1G)
Weaknesses: cover for battery is a little bit weak, it needs to be careful! Nothing else
Summary: This is a significantly wonderful MP3! I have researched for a month in order to buy an MP3. Through much consideration, I decided to buy this. Yes, I am very satisfied with its quality. I also want to recommend this to buy.

Strengths: Light weight, good sound.
Weaknesses: Hard to insert the USB cable
Summary: 2005-08-18 16:04:21 This is a good product I would recommend. It gives good sound, light weight and fairly easy to use. Unlike the Iriver I had, files can be up loaded and down loaded like a flash drive without any special program. Negatives: The little plastic cover on the port makes it hard to insert the USB cable. The file navigation is very touchy. Because the same button is used for different functionalities depending on the length of time pressed, you might have to try a few times to get the function you want.

Strengths: Long battery life
Weaknesses: I haven't found any yet
Summary: I am very happy with this mp3 player so far. It was easy to set up. I like that it uses a AA battery so that there is a longer battery life. It also came with many excessories so as 2 USB ports, a case, and a lanyard to wear around your neck. I am also happy to have an FM radio.

Strengths: Pro: small, pretty, long battery hour. The screen is quite useful, 4 lines of display
Weaknesses: Con: fair sound quality. Software has a little problem, more information can be found on cnet. There are some good reviews there.
Summary: overall, 8.5 out of 10. I don't regret buying this little gagdat. I did quite a research before my purhuse. Compared to apple ipod shuffle, it's much more functional and better made. Compared to other popular mp3 players like creative muvo, sandisk, it's much smaller. So if you want a small yet powerful mp3 player, this should be a good one to grab

Summary: Overall, I am satisfies with this unit. It’s small enough to tuck in my pockets when I’m at the gym, and it does everything that I need it to do – although, sometimes I have to fumble trough a couple of menus. My only suggestion is that the menus were a bit more user friendly or, simply, that there were a direct way to activate the FM tuner.

Strengths: size, quailty of sound, easy to use, can even download music from cd player onto it.
Weaknesses: None
Summary: After searching for many hours on the internet for an MP 3 player this was the best i found, it did all that i wanted ,a much more. The quality of sound is amazing for the size which it is. i have only had it a few hours but already I'm very impressed and would certainly recommend this. There is no worry of it skipping or being damaged as there is no hard drive, and the memory size is great, roughly 450 songs not bad.

2 Star ReviewDisappointment with SAMSUNG YP-MT6Z 1GB (internal flash) MP3 Player
Strengths: Playback time (I THINK: basing that on what's written in the manual: 40 hours)
Weaknesses: Recording time!! Manual says NOTHING about no more than 2 - 3 hours of battery life when recording. Also, untimely 'freeze-up!' Had to remove/reinsert battery to continue.
Summary: The 16 hours of storage was absolutely perfect for the recording of an event that I wanted to record. With 40 hours of battery life (playback), I figured I would at least get 20 hours to record (only needed 16). Was shocked that recording had stopped after only 2-3 hours of recording because of battery drain. (Same was true with all of the subsequent batteries, so not bad batteries) Was further shocked when recording had stopped because the unit had 'froze up.' Per the manual, when buttons become inoperable, check "hold" button or remove/reinsert battery. Had to do latter. BUT had lost more of my recording! This turned out to be finickier than the worst P.C. I've ever worked with.

Strengths: Very small, lightweight, and many worthwhile features. Very easy drag'n'drop mp3 loading
Weaknesses: None yet
Summary: The biggest benefit to this product is that you get 40+ hours of play time for a single AA battery so you can forget the constant charging. I own a sony mini disc walkman, a mini ipod. Each has a specific use however I bought this for gym use. Don't underestimate the battery feature. After time the lithium charge batteries lose their ability to hold and maintain a full charge (ie. palms, digital cams, etc). Sometime the good old fashioned battery is great. This player is packed w/features (many I will probably not use) but always nice to know they are there if I need them.

Strengths: sturdy construction, long battery life, drag & drop loading
Weaknesses: none found
Summary: I haven't bought one of these yet, but I am going to get one this weekend. I have been reading about it and comparing it to the Muvo2 5gb, the iAudio G3 and the iRiver iFP-799. It appears the Samsung has the best features. The AA battery is a big plus - I have a smaller player that uses AA batteries and it seems to play forever. I've used it as long as 3 weeks before changing.

The metal casing is a plus as is the drag & drop loading and 2.0 USB. I won't use the fm radio but it is a plus and the 4 line display will be nice.

One thing that helped with my decision to get the Samsung is their web site --- if you go there you can download the owners manual for the player. I read it and saw that it is much better written than most players and they write it as though you know nothing about computers which is a plus since most manuals leave too much out assuming you know all about it and give instructions as though they were talking to one of their collegues who was allready familiar with the unit.

Strengths: easy to use, small, a lot of features such as FM radio, recoding, mp3 of course....
Weaknesses: no arm band
Summary: I am really satisfied with this small and convenient machine. I was looking for a mp3 with radio and recorder together to make my life excited. I think this is the one. But the capacity for the purpose of recording radio content is not as big as I have expected.

Strengths: small size, nice features, not too expensive
Weaknesses: no arm band for jogging
Summary: I bought this MP3 player to use for jogging, and I only had it for a few hours because it didn't come with an armband. It comes with a neck strap, but that wouldn't be ideal for running, so I took it back. I like the size, price, and capacity. If it came with a way to secure it to yourself I'd still have it. No other downsides (then again I didn't have it for very long)
