Strengths: Inexpensive
4.1 sound
Weaknesses: Integrated wiring inputs
No 4.1 connector to other sources
Summary: 2003-03-11 13:25:05 The AVS500 system is quite a fun piece for $29. 4.1 sound and a bit of kick to it. By no means is this a full solution for someone bent on cranking the volume to max. For an easy listener this is a suitable system to connect up to a small TV or even a CD player. The options are simple. The surround volume changes the speakers from 2.1 operation to 4.1 operation. It seperates the fields through the front and rear inputs. I used a set of RCA - 8mm headphone converters though instead so my signal is more or less just a tweaked version of a 2.1 signal. For a small apartment or for younger siblings these should do fine. The system is targeted at value not maximum definition and power.
