Strengths: First RPG for PSP, similar to Diablo, easy to play
Weaknesses: Repetitive, sometimes too easy
Summary: If you like Diablo you will like this game. It's the standard hack -n- slash that becomes a bit repetitive at times. The game gets progressively more difficult as you advance through it, but I think the character's abilities advance a little faster so it gets a bit easy in my opinion. It's good for short periods of play because you can save at any point. The map seems a little confusing at times as you try to navigate to your mission. The graphics aren't as good as I was expecting, but they are adequate. You end up at a load screen fairly often and the delay is a bit longer than I would like. Overall, I think its a good game and I'm happy with it. If you can hold out for another RPG though - maybe one with online play - do so.

Strengths: Character building, lots of dungeons to explore, good controls
Weaknesses: Animations are a little choppy
Summary: Untold Legends is a very nice hack and slash role playing game for the PSP. This game is made by the same development studio that brought us the Champions of Norrath series and it is evident that they have learned a lot from those games. The game offers you four different character classes which is a sufficient amount for this type of game. You have four main attributes to build during the game: Strength, Dexterity, Intelligence, and Stamina. As you progress through the game, each enemy you defeat will give you experience points. These points are used to increase your character's attributes. There are many weapons, armor, and accessories to find during your quests and you can add items to these objects to power them up as well. The story is your standard saving the world affair, but it is well done and is pretty lengthy. The game supports 4-player wireless multiplayer, which is nice, but it's hard to get four people with the game all in one place at the same time.

Overall, if you are interested in hack and slash role playing games, I would definitely suggest checking out Untold Legends. There's plenty of things to keep you busy in this game and there's basically unlimited replay value.

Strengths: -Addictive gameplay -Very long game -Great graphics
Weaknesses: -Horrible soundtrack -Can get repetitive at times -Lots of backtracking
Summary: Untold Legends: Brotherhood of the Blade is an Action RPG similar to games such as Baldur's Gate, Gauntlet Legends, and the most recently Champions or Norrath series. If you've ever played any of the Champions of Norrath games, then you will find this game very similar. This game is exactly like Champions of Norrath, except this game takes place in a different time period.

The strong points of this game are the gameplay and the graphics. If you are someone who enjoys playing Action RPG's then you will find yourself playing this game for a long time. This game has some of the best graphics you will ever see on a handheld portable also. The length of the main story (not including side quests) are very, very long! Once you finish the story mode you can always go back and complete the side quests for the villagers. Can you say "LONG GAME?"

There are strong points, so this game must have weak points right? Of course! The weak points in this game are the lack of a good soundtrack. The music in the game will get annoying, so the best thing to do when playing this game is mute the game. People who are new to Action RPG's will find this game repetitive too. If you are someone who has no patient, this game is not for you because this game requires a lot of backtracking.

Overall, I think this game is fun but not for everyone. If you are someone who likes Action RPG's like the Baldur's Gate series, Gauntlet Legends, or the Champions of Norrath series, then you will like this game. But if you are someone who has no patience and does not like any one of those Action RPG's, it's best you skip this game.

Strengths: graphics, gameplay, controls
Weaknesses: not enough customizing
Summary: If you like Champions of Norrath, Diablo 1 and 2, and/or Icewind Dale you will like this game. It may not be as in depth as far as customizing your character, but the game play and the fact that its portable makes up for that. This was one of the first games to be released on the PSP. If this game is any indication as to where action rpgs are heading for the PSP, then I can't wait for the next one.

Strengths: Great Graphics, Lengthy Quest
Weaknesses: Challenging, Lengthy Quest
Summary: Untold Legends is one of those games you either love or hate. With great graphics and above average AI, this 1st generation PSP game draws the RPG crowd in with a good story and lengthy quest. Early PSP adaptors will find this a challenging game well worth the price of admission.

Strengths: Frist RPG for the PSP, great hack'n slash gameplay, but the elements of lvling up. Such a nice looking game graphics wise aswell.
Weaknesses: Repetitive quest and top view camera angels kinda ruins some of it for me.
Summary: I bought this game a week after launch, played it for about 5 min. then took it out and didn't play it again for over a month because I wasn't very interested. Then one day I figured I would try it out again, and I have to say, this is such a fun game, even when it gets repetitive, it's still fun to mash those buttons to hit like 5 monsters at once. This game is probably only geared towards people who already love rpgs. Great game if you give it a shot.

Strengths: *It's the only RPG available on the PSP right now* - *Hack and slash fun, a la Diablo* - *Pretty graphics for your psp*
Weaknesses: *Hacking can get redundant* - *The game isn't all that long*
Summary: I'm a fan of the hack and slash RPG genre, so I had to get this game. As of this review, it is the only RPG of any kind on the PSP, so if you are a fan of the genre you need to buy this game.

It isn't a bad game either. The graphics can be beautiful, and the sound is 3-D. Characters leave a bit to be desired, but since it is a H&S game, development is not required(though would be nice)

The game is pretty linear as well - not wiggle room for side quests and the like. Its basically a 'go in this dungeon, and kill em all' type of mentality. It is good for mindless fun.

I'd have to recommend this game for fans of the hack and slash games. Especially when it is your only choice. Hopefully more will come.

Strengths: Only RPG Adventure game that I was able to find out for the PSP at least so far.
Weaknesses: Graphics a bit 'childish'
Summary: 2005-08-18 22:54:59 Have not had a chance to play the game wirelessly with up to 3 other people yet but playing solo has been a lot of fun. Requires very little memory stick PRO space for saved game. Tons and tons of items and places to explore. Haven't finished it yet but enjoying everything so far.

3 Star ReviewUntold Legends: Brotherhood of the Blade
Strengths: Excellent graphics, ambient sounds. The only RPG on the PSP!
Weaknesses: Hack & slash gets tiring, not much character development
Summary: This was one of the PSP launch titles, and at that time was a great demonstration of the PSP's capabilities. It is still a good game, if a bit weak next to the myriad of console role-playing game (RPG) offerings.

Untold Legends is a typical hack-and-slash RPG where there really isn't much to the role playing aspects. The graphics are beautiful, though, and the ambient sound is amazing (walk by a flaming torch and you hear it approach from one side and recede to the other even over the tiny PSP speakers). The fighting is fun and there are certainly lots of items to collect to make your character stronger.

The original character choices and appearance are somewhat limited, but I don't really have as much of a problem with that as others may. The only major problem I had with the game is that the game play gets boring after a while. Every quest requires that you enter an area, clear out most (if not all) of the bad guys, find the boss and beat him - pretty much a straightforward hack & slash.

What it has going for it though, besides the beautiful graphics, is the fact that it is the only RPG on the PSP - so if you are an RPG fan and want something decent besides a racing game (of which the PSP has plenty to choose from) it is definitely a worthwhile purchase. Just don't expect much depth to the story.

3 Star ReviewUntold Legends Review
Strengths: many levels, good graphics, many weapons and , addictive play
Weaknesses: repetitive , sound is too simple, controls are a bit different
Summary: This is i think the only RPG available for the PSP thus it has no comparison yet. The on other game systems this game is very comparable to the game baulders gate in whihc you move around in different settings and acomplish quests and aquire levels and accs. This game requires a patient person. I personally like RPGs so i thought this game was pretty decent but others may think its a bit boring especially if you are into action stuff.

Strengths: Customizations, as far as armor, weapons, and leveling obviously.
Weaknesses: Copycat story for the most part, only one weapon attack.
Summary: The major problem with this game is that you've seen it before, about a million times before. I have 6 other games in my console collection that could have held this name and you wouldn't notice that much of a differance.

This game relys on the fact that it's one of a kind as far as portable systems go, and really nothings out on the PSP to compete with it yet. When the waters this shallow, they could have done a bigger hack job and seen the same amount of green, so I commend the developers for at least making a game that stacks up against its console bretheran.

While not as pretty as some may have hoped, this game has a lot of things going for it. When you first start out, you aren't immediately set forth to dispose of the mghty rat. No, but you do play the exterminator and kill a bunch of spiders. You're facing better enemies sooner in this game though. I didn't have to kill 5,000 rodents to get to something half my height.

Another nice thing is tweaking off the bat. Within the first five minutes you'll have gems off all sorts to trigger new effects in your weapons. Freezing creatures to go and fight the main guy is pretty cool, I highly recommend adding one of those gems to your weapon.

The story while a clone, is still a story and welcomed in place of nothing. At times there's twists, but that's much further down the game and a developer should really try and hook its players sooner.

Lots of magic and pretty particle effects to go along with them, 4 players, multiple levelling paths, his games a good addition to your pocket.

All in all, if you like hack and slash rpg's even a little, this will keep you amused, and don't pay attention to people bashing the load times, I barely even noticed. Pick it up if you get the time.

2 Star ReviewAlright... here we go- I'm not and avid gamer, I'm ...
Strengths: It'll hold me for a while.
Weaknesses: Baaaad music
Summary: Alright... here we go- I'm not and avid gamer, I'm not too hardcore, I'm not really into action RPG's, but I know a good game when I see one. For my share, I'd say that this game is not exactly what I thought it would be. It's just too simple in one aspect, and just too complex in others. Comparitavly speaking to my own experience with one of my favorite action RPG's- Kingdom Hearts- this game is just mere crap. As of what i've heard about Diablo, this game goes nowhere near touching it's custimization. Nonetheless, the game does look good. And the kind of gameplay that it has to offer when it comes to just mere battling, isn't really half bad. But the game just starts getting redundant after the second mission (and the music). You just go to and from your hometown looking for other people's crap and beating up wierd-looking super monsters. Yea well, if you do like Champions, though. Go ahead and buy it. I'd much reather get an MMORPG. You wait 'till Final Fantasy.
