 Great price for so much RAM Strengths: Great price, lifetime warranty, fast RAM.
Weaknesses: Caused an error on first use after install.
Summary: I ordered 2 of these to fill both of the empty memory banks in my Dell 4700. This memory is a great deal. You get lots of memory for the price. I wanted to get decent RAM so I wouldn't have any problems or lockups. At least this is a name brand, PQI, instead of the generic RAM you see on all those budget computer stores. It was easy to install and has a lifetime warranty.
I did have a few problems with it though. I've installed a ton of memory in my lifetime, so I know how to do it. It's simple. Put it in and it works. Not with this. At first my computer wouldn't even get past the initial boot-up screen. I turned it off, unplugged the power, and double checked to make sure the memory was in nice and tight. I turned it on and Windows loaded just fine. After about 10 minutes I got a blue screen telling me there was a memory error and that Windows will now shut down. I restarted and everything seemed to work after that. I then had the same problem where it wouldn't load past the boot-up screen. I checked again to make sure everything was tight and then it loaded fine.
Since then, it has been almost a week and everything has been running fine. No more errors and no more lockups. I'm hoping it was caused by just something that was loosened while installing the memory.
For the price, it's very good. If you want something that is guaranteed to be error free, try the higher-end memory.
