Strengths: Sound, Great Display, Quality, Easy use.
Weaknesses: Display just scrolls the song name once.
Summary: This is a great CD/MP3 Unit. I previously had a Jensen CD receiver, so the sound quality and power of the Sony Mp40 is just incomparable. My amplifier volume is not even at the middle, I need bigger subs for this unit, to much power for the ones I have.

Strengths: The great Sound of the Sony receivers. The display looks great on a bright day and looks better at night. I don't remember seeing another CD unit with white letters and numbers, this looks great. Easy to use and to browse songs. In Mp3 You can change from folder to folder with a single click, no need to skip every song to get to the next folder. Has the option to handle a CD changer and also is XM satellite radio compatible. Flip down face gives a futuristic feel, I didn't liked CDXMP30 because it did not have flip down face. Also when you turn it off it has a pretty cool display demo, it turns off when you take turn off the ignition key. It has a very good face removal system, it does not feel like it's gonna break something.

Weakness: When you play an MP3 file it scrolls the song name just once, I would like it to keep scrolling while the song plays. Also the little red buttons (SEL, ATT & DSPL) are kind of hard to press, but with the use they will get softer. It would be perfect if Sony comes out with a steering wheel remote control like Pioneer did, but they haven't.

Overall this is a great unit if you are looking for a MP3 receiver, great price, great sound, and great quality!

Strengths: Easy to install, easy to use. Great sound quality.
Weaknesses: scrolls song title only once.
Summary: I installed this player myself and it's easier than I thought. The display looks great and very easy to read. I like the virtual speakers feature very much. It makes me feel like the sound comes from the windshield. Overall this is a great player with great price. Highly recommended.

Strengths: Sound, display and easy to use
Weaknesses: none, sometime the sound is not stable.
Summary: This is a great player, I got it just for 20 days, and I liked it very much. Before getting this, I have had another cheaper player, however, the quality of the cheap player is very bad, so I changed to this. The sound, display and other specification is quite good. Strongly recommendation.

Strengths: Plays MP3 Files. Keeps place within file when turned off. Does not skip. Controls are relatively intuitive. Good tuner. Reliable thus far. Good value.
Weaknesses: Will not play more than 300 files. Not a big deal for music, but if you do a lot of audiobooks like me, that is not nearly enough. Buttons are somewhat small, which means operating with gloves is out.
Summary: I got this unit for its MP3 support. Why would you want a player without it these days? Navigating MP3 files is pretty straightforward. Goes through each file in a directory, then onto subdirectories, then back to main tree, just as one would expect. You can use the controls to skip to the next track, or to the next directory. You do need to be careful about how your CD burner orders the tracks and directories. Some will resort them when burning.

Now I wish it supported .WMA and .M4A

Installation was easy enough. Good directions. Very satisfied overall.
