Strengths: Sound, Great Display, Quality, Easy use.
Weaknesses: Display just scrolls the song name once.
Summary: This is a great CD/MP3 Unit. I previously had a Jensen CD receiver, so the sound quality and power of the Sony Mp40 is just incomparable. My amplifier volume is not even at the middle, I need bigger subs for this unit, to much power for the ones I have. Strengths: The great Sound of the Sony receivers. The display looks great on a bright day and looks better at night. I don't remember seeing another CD unit with white letters and numbers, this looks great. Easy to use and to browse songs. In Mp3 You can change from folder to folder with a single click, no need to skip every song to get to the next folder. Has the option to handle a CD changer and also is XM satellite radio compatible. Flip down face gives a futuristic feel, I didn't liked CDXMP30 because it did not have flip down face. Also when you turn it off it has a pretty cool display demo, it turns off when you take turn off the ignition key. It has a very good face removal system, it does not feel like it's gonna break something. Weakness: When you play an MP3 file it scrolls the song name just once, I would like it to keep scrolling while the song plays. Also the little red buttons (SEL, ATT & DSPL) are kind of hard to press, but with the use they will get softer. It would be perfect if Sony comes out with a steering wheel remote control like Pioneer did, but they haven't. Overall this is a great unit if you are looking for a MP3 receiver, great price, great sound, and great quality!
