2 Star Review1280 cd changer
Strengths: you have a hand full of cd's at your disposal, seletion is easier fast and accurate. The best is the smooth loading and removal of cartriges.
Weaknesses: its anti shock is not that great.
Summary: This unit works flawlessly in the first 12 months, after that it becomes slower and starts skipping cd's even when the car is not moving. So its best to get a new one after a year.

Strengths: You can load 12 disks at once. You control what you listen to using your factory radio buttons. You have a selection of 120 or more songs at your fingertips.
Weaknesses: An interface adapter is required to connect this changer directly to your factory radio in most vehicles. This adapter costs about $80.
Summary: 2006-05-08 15:33:37 This changer is easy to install and gives you a great selection of music. You can purchase additional magazines and have 12 more disks in each nearby ready to load at your convenience. This changer doesn't skip . It performs great. You can repeat the songs or you can choose random and the songs will play in a random order. It would be very hard for me to do without my changer.

Strengths: The CD Changer connected to my existing head unit with no adjustments and plays great.
Weaknesses: The installation instructions could have been a little more clear, but I was able to install quickly.
Summary: I replaced a 6 disk changer. It was nice that I could replace my old changer with a newer and larger one without upgrading my head unit. I am pleased with the CD changer and have no regrets.

Strengths: Uses the same CD magazines as the CDX-P1220 that it replaced. Similar size, so existing mounting brackets could be used. Cable connections are the same, so existing cables could be used.
Weaknesses: None that I can think of.
Summary: I replaced a CDX-P1220 with the CDX-P1280. The CDX-P1220 lasted for nine years and 100,000 miles. When the vehicle it was installed in was running, so was the CD changer.

The CDX-P1280 appears to have been built just as well as the unit it replaced.

I was very pleased that I could use the existing mounting brackets and cables to install the CDX-P1280.
