Strengths: Has the best picture of any LCD's in it's size. HD is breathtaking!
Weaknesses: Not as easy to see at a wide angle as a plasma, but close enough.
Summary: 2005-12-25 16:17:49 The DVI connector can be used to create a super-sized computer monitor!

Illuminated Universal Remote is easy to read & use, love the lcd readout. The EZ SoundRite (Volume Leveler)works great, helps during commercials.

It has a wonderful crisp bright picture, one touch sound/stereo options was nice with my existing surround sound system.

3 Star ReviewNice unit with some drawbacks
Strengths: Nice design with several lighted indicators below the screen. Picture is very good. Close to a 37" Sharp.
Weaknesses: Stupid remote control. A somewhat narrow viewing angle.
Summary: I like very much the one button viewing selections such as Daytime and Nighttime modes. It allows me to quickly switch to Nighttime when the screen becomes too bright for evening viewing.

It does have problems producing dark images. I was comparing my Sony LCD projector with this TV playing a movie called "Appleseed". The LG was defintely having trouble with producing those dark scenes. In other words, instead of seeing details on those dark areas, I consistently saw dark patches whereas my projector showed much more details.

All the buttons can be illuminated on the remote control, but only the numbers, volume and channel are printed on the buttons. So when I am in the dark, I have no idea what the other buttons do.

Volume button only works when mode is set to TV. So when I switch to DVD mode to control my DVD, I can't adjust the volume without switching to TV. And that LCD display which shows what mode you're in is not illuminated either!

What is LG thinking when they design this remote control!

Strengths: Crisp picture quality especially in HD,illuminated remote control,LCD read-out on the bottom of the screen, cabinet color, display stand included, PIP and POP, plenty of hook-ups,especially to a PC
Weaknesses: Very heavy, all hook-ups in the back, and only S-Video and Composite on left side.
Summary: I purchased this TV the other day for my bedroom and all i have to say is WOW.the HD picture is amazing and very very clear/ crisp. It was much much cheaper then the Sony XBR series or Bravia series. The fact it's a 37 and it fit perfectly on my entertainment stand, i was truly amazed because the screen was so big.

Strengths: Setup, picture brightness, ease of use
Weaknesses: None that I have found to be an issue. No HDMI jack.
Summary: Great price on this TV, and built in HD Local off-air tuner. WONDERFUL picture on off-air and Direct TV feeds. Setup is automatic. Remote control programmed easily to other brand components I have. Tuner brings in all local stations. The picture is clear on non-hd broadcast (Direct TV) and crystal clear on HD feeds. The sound system built in is dolby and has several modes that are noticeably differnt and has me thinking I don't need home theater with the sound produced by the local speakers.

Highly recommended.

Strengths: I just love the PIP feature. You can watch 2 shows at one time; swapping the focus back and forth for volume. You can even channel surf while maintaining the primary focus. Change the size ratio.
Weaknesses: That darned remote! You can't use the set without it! and the response time is slow....I like to flip.
Summary: Overall it's a great set! I wouldn't change it. I hug my set everyday.

Although it is HD-ready, it has a very nice and sharp picture, even without the enhanced cable (Comcast). The black trim goes great with my decor.

Along with the PIP feature, and the "channel return," You can also set it up to "Surf" your "favorite" channels.

I just wish I knew how to delete those unwanted channels...it lets you save channels in Cable-mode, HD-mode, DV-mode and regular-mode.
