Strengths: Room-filling sound Tight response Great low-end tonality Nice look Crisp cone movement Weaknesses: Auto-on/off LED not visible from front All controls on back of unit May need Y-adapter Summary: This subwoofer delivers tight sound with little effort. I was amazed at how this unit so easily filled the room. I have it in a 225+ sq ft room, and there is little localization. Concrete floors are no problem for this forward-firing giant in a small box. Compared to other models I listened to (including higher en Klipsch and JBL), this unit is quite competitive. I imagine this subwoofer could easily fill a room twice or more the size of my apartment living room. This unit hits incredible lows with clarity and control. As I said before, there is little localization when placed properly in the room. I am completely satisfied with this subwoofer. By far, it ousts the KLH 12 inch that I bought. This unit has triple the power for less than triple the price. Strengths: relatively inexpensive for its sound deep thundering bass will shake your small house or apt. Weaknesses: does not have some of the very advanced features of other subs, but are all those features really needed? Summary: Set this doozy up in my small living room and I immediately felt the effects. I have had plenty of friends come over and say this was the best sub they've ever heard. It does not distort or take away the sound from tv shows, movies, sports, but is a very nice complement to it. Strengths: Powerful amp, room-shaking bass Weaknesses: Big box for a 10" sub Summary: Awesome! If you are looking to upgrade your current home theater setup this is the sub you need. I was using a home theater in a box setup before I bought this. With it you could hear the bass, which is nice. With the Velodyne you can feel the bass. It is a totally different experience. Bolt everything down before cranking this sub up to max. Usually leave mine on about 50% of total power. More than enough for my room which is 12x22. 96% of People (24/25) found this review helpful. Good dynamic range and low distortion to accurately reproduce music. Great price! Weaknesses: Fairly large cabinet for the output level. Summary: Cabinet is black and looks like good build quality, cheap stick on rubber feet fell off soon after I put them on. Has all the needed functionality for a home theater system of any age. Strengths: Awesome sub Weaknesses: None Summary: When it comes to subwoofers, go with the big boys at Veloyne. Someone told me about them, and I researched their subs. They easily make the best subs in the below $1,000 range. Go to an audio store and listen to the other brands, they don't compare. I got the 10 inch version. It's freaking huge, about 53 pounds. Once you hear it in music you realize how much better this is than the cheap subs from other comapnies. They say the 10 inch goes up to rooms with 2,000 cubic feet. I'm at 1,000 or so in the rooms I'm using it in and it's very powerful. I would have to say that when it comes to home theater the sub is the most important piece of eqiupment next to a decent center channel speaker. I'm using mine with Polk speakers.
